The Legend of Zual-Dhar (intro and background)

Eons ago, the young and strong deity called Samnaeth rose to power, worshiped by the ancient civilization of Tharri who, under his guidance, became one of the strongest peoples of their time. Samnaeth was their supreme deity and, as they grew and conquered other peoples guarded by smaller gods and spirits, he grew more and more proud and overconfident. One by one, mortals and immortals fell before his might and the armies of Tharri (some even joined them; spirits who joined Samnaeth were called Daemons). Although advanced and organized, the Tharri were a cruel people, just like their god, and thousands of slaves toiled endlessly and created huge temples as bastion of Samnaeth's dominion, where his sorcerer-priests made countless sacrifices to him. For, as he sinked deeper and deeper in his ambition and arrogance, his very essence became stained with darkness, thus he required regular streams of mortal souls to imbue his existence. His skills in lies and deceit, as a sort of mastery over the souls of countless mortals, and his abilities to spawn creatures and minions (such as snakelings), granted him the name Zual-Dhar (meaning Soulshaper) among his followers. Finally, on the peak of his power, he challenged the most powerful of gods in order to claim his title as the Head of the Pantheon and, after a long, gruesome and devastating war, he was defeated, magically shackled to be forever bound to his Fell Halls (the greatest of all the temples), and his true name was forbidden and erased from the pantheon. The lands of the Tharri were shattered with various cataclysms and opposing armies, and the people scattered, leaving only the darkest of temples and halls buried deep into the earth as reminders of an empire that was to rule the world.

Name: Samnaeth (forbidden to speak), Zual-Dhar
Honorary titles: The Soulshaper, the Harvester, the Lord of Oblivion, the Serpent-God
Pejorative titles (used by his enemies): The Forgotten One, the Liar God, the Exiled One
Duty: God of temptation, fear and domination
Level: Divine Power
Influence: Confined to his main fortress, temple and bastion, the Fell Halls. Cannot leave them as long as he wears the Shackles of Oblivion (which he can't take off ).
Sacred animals: Serpents
Appearance: Appears as a tall, pale half-serpent humanoid (snake body instead of legs, similar to a male, two-handed naga), wearing a full plate armor adorned with onyx and cobalt, a dark purple cape on the back, a closed runic black helm (with holes only for two yellow snake-like eyes) with a cobalt/onyx crown merged on the top. Shadowy armbands around hands, representing the Shackles of Oblivion.
Strengths: An almost unbreachable underground fortress-temple (the Fell Halls), ability to spawn, breed and control various serpentine creatures, though he can't come out he can send out armies and champions, able to grant various blessings, unsurpassed skills in temptation and deceit
Weaknesses: Confined to the fell halls, exiled from the pantheon, shackled, needs sacrifices, tied greatly to the mortal world
Methods of worship: Ritual human sacrifices, unquestionable obedience
Temples: Forgotten, buried, some even ruined dark shrines, left over from the ages of the Tharri Empire. Characteristics are gargoyles and dark, gothic statues of serpents; tall, runic pillars and stone-carved ceilings; several dungeons for the sacrificial victims, and dark altars decorated with cobalt and onyx.
Servants:
-Daemons (three for now, I'll introduce them during the game; if you want, you can create a daemon character that would be aligned with me, at least in the beginning. I accept more or less anyone with some RP experience, and you get a month of vacation per year, plus health insurance ).
-Dreadlords, an order of dark knights mounted on huge serpents. Fully armored, greatly skilled with swords, maces and spears, loyal and intimidating. Blessings of Zual-Dhar rendered them unable to age, tied to their cause until death on the battlefield.
-Gargoyles, and other animated stone statues from ancient temples.
-Sorcerer-priests and inquisitors; cunning, cruel and intelligent. Beside worship, also used as emissaries and support troops on the battlefield.
-Snakelings (humanoid snake warriors) and other lesser creatures created as minions and the bulk of armies.
Quirks: Arrogant, selfish, calculated, deceitful, cunning, intimidating, adores snakes

It's bad, but that's a good thing.

Anyway:
Name: Keif
Duty: God of happiness and festivities.
Level: Spirit.
Influence: Free to roam the world, but his power level depends on the number of people in the area (the more the better).
Appearance: Appears as an average human with no unique physical marks, which makes him unrecognizable by most humans.
Strengths: Extremely charismatic, has a certain aura of happiness around him, able to evoke different degrees of laughter and joy in any particular creature(s) around him, can teleport to big festivities especially if summoned*.
Weaknesses: Trustful, naive.
Methods of worship: Prayers, sacrifices of good wine.
Temple: Small stone shrines usually situated in taverns and city squares.
Servants: none.
Quirks: Prone to getting drunk, but only to a point of losing self-control, never passing out. Prefers the human world which he believes to be more fun.

Secondary duty: Being one of the few spirits/gods who can go wherever he wants and given the ability "jump" between parties enables him to move fast all over the world. For that reason some gods use to deliver messages and rumors.

*Humans can try and summon Keif in hopes that he would come to bless their festivity with their presence. He always hears these summonings, but is easily able to resist them unless they are performed by (more or less) powerful sorcerers.

Since somebody took animals () guess I have to go a different route.  Here goes.

Name: Vandaunt
Duty: God of Strategy
Level: Minor God
Influence: anywhere there is a battle or test of wits or political plotting
Appearance: Varies for type of competition, but often a dark haired somewhat 'geeky' guy.
Strengths: Wisdom, Intelligence, Strategy, Cunning
Weaknesses: Fickle, and often will be caught working on both sides.  Manipulator.  Physically about as strong as a butterfly.
Methods of worship: Doesn't rely on worship.  However, people have been known to sacrifice treasures to him to try to get him on their side.
Temple: Anywhere a battle, contest, or game of strategy is taking place.
Servants: Mostly spies and political pundints.
Quirks: A bit of a loon.  Sometimes he likes to interfear in his own strategies by counter strategies. Believed to be on the side of Chaos.  Often argues with himself outloud.

Name: Aetherann
Duty: God of stars, justice and neutrality.
Level: Quasigod: a powerful Glorified Hero.
Influence: Secluded realms of the Void, cultists of the Aether and the Balance.
Appearance: A creature of pure black energy, swathed in an azure insulating cloak decorated with symbols and runes of the Void.  Wears a golden helm, crowned with a large teal jewel.  Wields Xacondriel, a sword-like object with two blades protruding from the hilt, conducting electricity in the space between.
Strengths: Broad spectrum of powers relating to Order, Chaos and the Void.  Knowledgeable in many matters.  Swift to attack, and decidedly loyal.
Weaknesses: Has near-inhuman qualities - cannot be swayed or convinced easily.  Is slightly chaotic and too quick to offer trust.
Methods of worship: Prayer, administration of justice, maintaining the balance.
Temple: Ivory spires adorned with a teal, five-pointed star.

I could make a simple map and name this world and makeup somekind of a generic starting narrative like: "In the land of <Insert Name Here> the ceuntries have passed very normally. (wars and stuff, some powerful empire(s)) Now <Insert Balance Trheatening Thing Here> is disrupting the balance and trheatening the worlds fate. The Gods must find out what is causing this and prevent it from driving the lands of <Insert Name Here> into chaos, or join it and break the world of <Insert Name Here> forever."

Anyone who would atleast want me to make something and show it to you to be judged or should we just improvise about the landscape and the special thing happening?

Vigitar
God of sight, prophetic dreams, visions and future
a commonly worshipped, neutral god
He looks like a blind, old man, wearing white cloaks.
strengths: wise
weakness: very pessimistic for he sees the future and knows the fate of mankind.
He is only served by monks and small chapels spread throughout the corners of the realm. The second son of every dynasty in the eastern empire is born blind and is forced to share the visions in his dreams with the emperor.
In the capitols of every great nation, you can find an inaccessible tower which seems to rise forever. There is usually a temple (roman) build to it.
There are no specific methods of worship.
He limps on one leg and he is slowly sinking into a state of dementia (he has seen too many things)

Bigz, perhaps you could make a list of gods, along with their duties, as a sort of overview? It might be practical. And, of course, update it as new players join.

EDIT
Keksimaton, in my opinion you should make the first version of the map We can always edit it later, add new areas etc. Now would be a good time to make it since the RPG is about to start soon...
