I Should Say ****-Off More Often!!!
Ok WTF have we come to in this world. Read on and see why a High school student was given credit for writing the words ****-off on his exam paper. The teacher is quoted in this article as saying the following: "It's better than someone that doesn't write anything at all."
Really, this is what our education system has come to?

The Times newspaper on Monday quoted examiner Peter Buckroyd as saying he gave the student - who wrote an expletive starting with f, followed by the word "off" - two points out of a possible 27 for the English paper.
"It would be wicked to give it zero because it does show some very basic skills we are looking for, like conveying some meaning and some spelling," Buckroyd was quoted as saying.
"It's better than someone that doesn't write anything at all."
Buckroyd said the student would have received a higher mark if the phrase had been punctuated.
Buckroyd is a senior examiner for the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance, one of several bodies that grade British high school exams.
He said the expletive was used in 2006 by a student in response to the question: "Describe the room you are sitting in."
The alliance confirmed the newspaper's story was accurate, but said Buckroyd's decision to award the student marks was not official policy.
"The example cited was unique in the experience of the senior examiner concerned and was used in a pre-training session to emphasize the importance of adhering to the mark scheme: i.e. if a candidate makes any sort of response to a question then it must be at least given consideration to be awarded a mark," the company said in a statement.
It said obscenities on exam papers "should either be disregarded, or action will be taken against the candidate, depending on the seriousness of the case."

Topic:Maths example @School-leaving exam, I repeat: School-leaving exam, for 18 year old students after 12 years of education!
7th task:
If a half kilogram of orange costs 75 Hungarian forints, how many can you buy from 300 forints? (2 points)
If you have 6 pts you've passed the first part of the exam.
And this qualifies for university...

Well it could be worse. My sister was penalized on a test when she wrote the word: "******" (which isn't even half as offensive as it is in english)
Do you have to write "my black fellow man" on a small test every time? Especially when I need the room on my sheet?

I would say dropping words descriping somebody's looks and twist the writing so it gets out in a weird way that IT is a black person.l

I still think that I should have the freedom to say whatever we want...
And, btw, this wasn't a literary work. She just had to use a word to describe the average african citizen. i am aware that she's politically incorrect, but she was 12, didn't receive a warning and, again, i think that people should be able to exercise their right of free speech and, at least, be taught why they aren't allowed to use it to it's fullest.

Hmmmmmmm, no wonder. I would have listed it like: Pretty dark skin color(etc).
Simply because there are alot better ways of expressing what needs to be said without sterotypes and sterowords.
I enjoy freedom of speech, however i detest abuse of speech.

Yeah, sorry for my rant
Though, it's quite difficult to describe the exact situation (it all happened in dutch, so the feelings are a bit different), but I see the error in my thoughts (a bit, but changing my mind is difficult).  I suppose it's just like the writer once said:
It's not what you say, but how you say it, that defines you. For style is what you are. (again, I'm translating, so...)
I also see that I'm falling short of arguments, kinda. So I'll stop ranting.

Ahhh pointless rant on exam papers. I remember my year 12 days.
My mid term physics exam presented me with a question that i was completely unprepared for. Not knowing how to work the question i quickly began to put together a bunch or complicated formulas and theories, eventually concluding that my black pen wrote better than my blue one. I was hoping to score some creativity marks... it wasn't to be.
To talk about the student who got marks for writing **** off. I don't think he should have got anything. Not only was the question asked ridiculously easy, but what he wrote could be taken as offensive.
I mean really, Describe the room you are in. If you cant string together a sentence comprising of "coffee stained walls" and "uncomfortable chairs", you need special attention.

I don't get why it's so SHOCKING! when one recieves credit for having written ****-off. Especially when the person who gave the credit for it had such good logic behind his actions. I know that the person wrote it seemingly had no idea what to write because he had not done any school work at all so he just decided to write ****-off because he thought that it would be cool and he would get to show off to his friends and strenghten his position in the hierarchy of the pack.
One might argue that it would give him and others alike him the image that barely doing anything eventually pays off (wich obviously is a bad image). That is a very good argument and I can't think of anything to make a decent counter-argument to my own argument against my earlier argument so I will have use a bad one: Your face has the image that barely doing nothing pays off! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! I burned you BAAAAAAAD! 
P.S. I know the answer to that question in that mathematics test! I could buy 2 kilograms of oranges!
P.P.S. Don't use ****-off more. It is not cool and you won't get any credit for it.

This is a serious lack of discipline. When I was in school if someone did that they would have been taken out in the hall and spanked with a big board. We used to call them "cracks" because you could hear the crack of the wood on the butt all up and down the hall. Now that I think about it, something like that might even have resulted in a suspension.

I know people that could have written this for the fun of it but getting a grade for that is absurd.
Unfortunately there is no care about who takes teaching positions, some even make the lesson harder because they are not good at explaining things. Of course that's better than having people like the above.
