No, thats not my point. My point is that the point of games is fun not work, and the worst part is that you need to pay to continue playing (working) only to waste some more time of your life by killing monsters, getting new stuff in the game and then doing it again and again etc...

No...IMHO i think u missed the point...MMORPGs are created so u can play and meet people around the globe and have fun. And you're not working/killing monsters only, you're trading in-game, solving quests, trying new builds, helping other people/friends thru the game...you relax, compete, have FUN ...u can do whatever you like and the world u're doing it, is huge.
I like MMORPGs cause they are wast and it isn't true u only kill monsters, then u do it a little more...if u look WoW or GW like that then u don't know what u're missing...

last time im saying this: Mumorpugers are not fun because you dont do there anything. I played one once but then i realized that im wasting my life on this, because the only thing you can do there is killing monsters then getting stronger and then killing some more monsters, and dont tell me that quests are fun in Mumorpugers cuz its the same only with a reward, and then when you get that reward you do the same thing again. And meeting new people in Mumorpugers is not exaclly fun, the only things they say is:

"party?"
"fama 4 fame?"
"nid hp pots"

There are some really good and long quest-chains that leads to big events (atleast in WoW, for example you discover that the human queen is a high ranked dragon in disguise, or you turn innocnets into Zombies if you play as a Forsaken).

Well lately I have been playing nodiatis, and though it too is a treadmill it is lightyears more fun then WoW. I got burned out on WoW fast because I also played Everquest before it, and the whole grind is a bit much. I have not played WoW lately but pretty much you needed a huge guild to get anything done. To get into a huge guild you needed to have certain things done, or brown nose somebody already in the guild. Since I am not a brown noser, I was caught in a catch 22. Needed the gear to be in a large guild, needed a large guild to get the gear.
Anyhow, then it would take 4 hrs to organize, 2 hrs to get to where you needed to be, and another 4 before you actually got a CHANCE to get anything good. Since most of the people had alts and had a boatload of 'dkp' you rarely got anything even then. So you fight the same place 100+ times just to get 1 peice of equipment. Yay.
If you solo, which can be done, you can get levels, and so so equipment, but the good stuff you needed instances for. 40+ player instances for...
Yeah my idea of fun.

Its 10-man (and later 25) instances now
Much easier. And in the next expansion you will be able to choose if you want to do a raid with 10 or 25-man.

I hate World of Warcraft
And all MMO"RPG"s sucks
The invention of MMORPG and modern day FPS totaly sentenced RPGs and strategy games to death.
Don't get me wrong, I know there are some good FPS games, such es Mesterlövész and Deus Ex, but please... Coutner Strike is totaly crap, and all MMORPGsm, or at least 99% of them can suck ** ****...
What's so good in acting like a superman and kill monsters only to increase level.
Same problem as Dark Messiah, which is Crap too (though its not MMO"RPG")
Actualy, true RPGs are games such as Might and Magic 1-7 (8 and 9 sucked), Wizardy 1-8, Baldur's Gate 1-2, Bard's Tale, etc.
Dungeons and Dragons was a realy good game to play... its shame that "hot potato" to play games like this, and other RPGs...
What's so good in going to kill everyone at Level 80, and became addict. MMORPGs like World of Warcraft and FPS games like CounterStrike are a new drug for 10-16 years old children.
Legends such as Gary Gygax, Ray Muzyka and Jon Van Caneghem wound tumble in their graves when they hear about MMORPGs... sorry Ray Muzyka and Jon Van Caneghem aren't dead, they are alive, but they great legends indeed.
I think all "square" MMORPG and CounterStrike players shoud go to play real games such as Heroes of Might and Magic, Might and Magic, Wizardy, Bards Tale, Dungeons and Dragons, Kings Bounty, etc.

but when azeroth or whatever becomes more important than the family you love and the friendships you made... well thats when it is a problem

Okay lets taking. World of Szarcraft (don't ask me what does "szar" means in hungarian, its a swearin) is an MMO"RPG", yes?
How dare people call it RPG?!
-RPG isn't about this!
-RPG is Role Playing Game!
-RPG isn't about to kill hundred of monster to incraces one variable.
-RPG isn't about to PWN everyone, and then be bored of quest, PVPs, etc.
-RPG isn't about to gain Level 80, buy the best equipment, best spells, etc.
-RPG IS ABOUT TO SIMULATE REAL LIFE IN A (mostly) FANTASY OR SCI-FI WORLD!!!
And what do we see in World of Warcraft? Kill everyone, Beat everyone, PWN everyone. And finished.
But in games like Thrillion you can simulate real life. You can talk to everyone, you can fight, but you don't alway win, regandless of level (its a Forum RPG)
RPG is about Team Work, truobles, missions, quest, NOT only killing everyone to increase one variable, not only get lvl 80, not only defeat everyone.
RPGs are set in Fantasy world (elves, orcs, undead, demons, mages, wizards, witches, dragons), BUT trying to be as realistic as it can be. In True RPGs
- You can defeat who phisicaly weakre than you, or have less magical powers. But you can also defeat a stronger enemy by thief's tricks.
- You can also sleep, drink, eat, etc.
- There are no classes and levens becuse it ruins the very little realism in the game.
- All races have special abilities, but they aren't restricted to chose any aligment or class
See what I mean?
If you want to kill everyone, pwn everyone, or something else, then play FPS games and Action Games, not RPGs. RPG isn't about this.
