Need the graphics from heroes IV
Hello!
I've been a huge fan of HOMM since the beginning of time. But it has always annoyed me that in each version they improve some things, and remove other things that i thought was great.
So, I decided to make my own version of the game, with the best from all the games combined.
I have come pretty far without it, but now i would like to add the graphics to the game. I'm too lazy to make it myself, so I'm gonna use the graphics from heroes 3 (combat) and 4 (map,castles).
What I need right now is the sprite sheets of the HOMM4 hero Knight (male and female) walking in all 8 directions. It would be a hell to rip them all from the game, and I don't know how to open the files in the install folder.
I promise, I will post the game here!

sorry, don't have the sprites or anything, but just wanna say ur on a noble quest... assuming you finish the game  , also wanna say that some people like the improvements/removals, and some don't, so this won't appeal to everyone
what are you gonna add/remove? Whats it gonna be like?

One of the things I missed in Heroes 4 was creature upgrades. So, by using the creatures of higher levels, I added an upgrade for each (squire -> archers and so on. I will add griffins myself)
And the hero can no longer move without troops, and vice versa.
I probably won't be able to make you prefer this game to the original one, as I WILL have to remove some features. Instead of 7 creatures in an army, my game is limitet to 5 (might consider increasing it later)
I just released a (very) early demo. Not much to do, except moving around, enter the castle and switch player (3 players).
I'm mostly doing this to improve my programmingskills, and I can not guarantee I will finish the game, but I will do my best.

Sindert,
Do you know how/if it is possible to extract the creature animations from Heroes 4 then? I've tried countless programs, but no luck.

how to make hero cant move without army  ??? i wan to change it in my version, and disable hero can fight in combat  only cast speels and improve his army strenght

Thanks! I had almost given up. I'll try it....
Hm.. I've been trying it a little now, but it doesn't seem to recognice all the files. And the files I extract are unknown to my computer.
How do I extract the Hero animations as a gif/a series of bmp?

its impossible to extract a series of images as a single gif... you'll have to extract them one by one using the save as bmp and then nerge them using other program (like gif movie gear)
