WOG on Vista

Does HOMM3 WOG work on Windows Vista, or is it anyone else than me who has errors all the time? I've reinstalled it several times, but it keeps crashing ... I get to play 5 minutes, then it stops. Is it anyone else who has this problem? Any ideas what I can do to fix it?

Probably you can't run it on Vista, unless you patch the exe and the registrations somehow... (H3 can't run Vista also, so...)

WoG doesnt run through Vista without XP emu

I run all H3 on Vista without any problems. There are pop-ups  which I ignore, like "error you need 32mb ram you have only 4 GB"

Well, than you have a secret to share with us?

Wog shouldnt run through Vista at all. And it doesnt. The exception is if you run it through an XP emulation ,an option included in some Vista packages.

Well what if you ran the game via Compatibility Mode? Right click the game exe, go to properties then click compatibility and then pick one of the options. I would pick windows 98 or Windows 2000.

Well, running H3 complete through XP2 mode or Win98 mode works in Vista for me. (The CD version of the game - apparently there are install problems for the DVD edition).

However, this doesnt work with WoG 3.58f. The game runs, but crashes after a short while.

I made the wog 3.58f work with Linux and with XP2 ,so I play WoG on an old computer with those installed.

But in general, I have always had problems running WoG for hours, as the game eventually crashed in any OS after a couple of hours.

Maybe you didn't install it properly or you have scripts which aren't setup properly? WoG works fine for me when played for many hours. I have tested it on Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2000.

I probably have the worst advice to give here but...

I installed Heroes 3 long time ago in my Win98 computer, and when I had to change, I simply copied the entire folder to the new comp.
Thus it worked on XP and it also works with vista today, with this folder created in 1999

Heroes 3 works well for me on vista. But WOG doesn"t want to start and says

EIP=Oxeed97, attempt to divide an integrer value by an integrer divisor of zero.

Somebody as an idea?

Okay I did something and it works the WOG. It wogify the map but then I don't have the erperience for monsters and creatures... Is it another addon? Or a patch? Because I think I've got the last one (357f).

Or may be there's something to start soewhere in WOG options (but in the selection map there's nowhere I can set experience for creatures).

Please help me I'm so close to play again!!

3.58f is the latest.

What do you mean by not having 'experience' for monsters / creatures? you kill them and the win-battle screen ahows nothing?

Nop, when I played before on my last computer with XP and all the addons, creatures had experience to, 10 levels, I checked and it should be on with WOG. So I don't get it, but I'll try the lastest 358... U don't have this system with creatures?
