Virginity.

My ramble at the VWs inspired me to create this thread.

What do you think about virginity?

Is it a curse, or a blessing? Should you "demand" it from the person you date/are in relationship with?

How do you cope with your GF/BF having previous sexual partners, or rather, with the knowledge of it, if it happened, ofc?

What do you think about teenage girls, 13-14 yo, losing their virginity on a random party (with lots of teenage drinking, of course..)

Just don't write whether if you are a virgin or not, or to whom you lost in, man, woman, chair.. I really don't care and I think most of us doesn't, too And don't forget it's a PG13 board.

Demanding is the second last and worst option you can have in a relationship.I don't find virginity either curse or blessing, but more in the neutral zone.

Well, I accept it, what can I do about it?Complaining isn't going to change it.

I don't see that young people losing their virginity as "justified", but it's everyones personal matter.

Virginity = not had sex yet. How is that a bad thing and is that good? lol? It doesn't matter at all oO.
Quote:

LOL?! You can only "demand" things a person can change lol and if he/she isn't a virgin you can't do anything about it. Besides how does it make your partner a different person if he/she didn't have sex yet oO?
Quote:

Ehm... I kill her. Sex is... what? The most natural thing on our planet? So how could I possible be angry or even feel "unpure" if I had a partner that already had sex?

Quote:

Well that sucks of course since they only do it so that they can brag about it and because it's SOOOO special. It's not even a one night stand I mean the kiddos have no freakin idea what they are doing.

Sorry but that's not neccesarily right. Simply because you have a lot of sex doesn't mean you can fall in love now does it? You should watch the movie "Irma La Douce" ahhh~~~ such a wonderful movie.
Women (and men for the matter) who've had a lot of sex in their lives aren't necessarily snows and hos.

"lol she doesn't have a damn clue what love is"
Come on man... you know you're exagerating. Sure some may be like that but lots of sex =/= no emotions.

Like a prostitute. Would you fall in love with a prostitute? You're guaranteed that she had no emotions

I meant girls (or boys) that "fall in love" with every person they meet and say "I love you" to almost anyone. Such a horrible devaluation of that sentence..

Read this first.

Virginity is a value (good or bad, whatever). When you are young and are not serious for relationships, it is a good value because it makes you pure. Most people break up way too easily and don't take any relationship seriously anymore -- because what they think of is just that: sex. Bleh

If that's what makes you 'mature' then I am sorry to disappoint you.

And dude you bet I'm going to have a lot of sex in my life. I know lots of people who have lots of sex (awesome sentence xD) and their not prostitues and hos. They simply enjoy having sex. That's not "unpure" nor "inmoral" nor "less" good in anyway. They simply like sex. Big deal.

Some people really just make virginity into a big frikking deal. The buttholes at school like to ask me (because I'm the geek/nerd/whatever) things like: "So at what age were you planning on losing your virginity?" or "So you will be having a wild student life then (in upper secondary school)? Drinking, smoking marijuana and ****ing?.. NOT!"

Whats the big damn deal? Virginity was a thing that people worried about in the dark ages and it was about preserving it and not trying to get rid of it as fast as possible. So what has caused this bull feecery? Dunno really...

Then there are those weird virginity preserving associations that tell people to not have sex before marriage or you will be trhaumatised for the rest of your life and you will never be able to enjoy sex.

Whats the big deal with marriage? No other animal has marriages, they just run around and mate!

I think that the people have been divided into these two groups about this whole virginity thing:

1. The ones who make a big deal out of it with two sub groups. The dark age premarriagesexphobia people and the mustgetridofvirginity people.

2. Those who don't make a big deal out of it.

Besides, now we have condomes etc. That (when used correctly (using incorrectly means you are suffering from a souveir case of mental retardation)) prevent the sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies.

The whole "no sex before marriage" -thing was all about the unwanted pregnancy thing and now we have the solution, but people still keep babbling about it. Whats up with that?

There is a problem: It has a solution. Later on there comes a new and obviously better solution wich should overtrhow the old solution, but it doesn't because of (some, not all) damn conservatives!

My final thoughts after this rant: Don't make a big deal out of virginity.

P.S. (I am fully aware that I am making a big deal out of people who mkae a big deal out of virginity.)

I can't follow you. What are you talking about? If you just have sex because it's actually a lot (emphasize the lot) of fun you're a primitive human?

Quote:
Virginity is a value (good or bad, whatever).

No it isn't. Talk like this makes it somewhat important. Anybody who really cares for somebody won't give a damn if the other one is a virgin or not.
Quote:

You're really losing me... virginity makes you "pure"?! So you're saying a young girl (16~17) that has had sex is less "pure" than a young girl that hasn't had sex? That is utter rubbish. Sorry. Of course there is subjective perceiption I give you that. But on an objective basis it's ridicolous.

You must have had some bad experiences... atleast people are not sex hungry dinasurs jumping on everyone simply because they want to have sex.

Fully agreed with Doom here. If you break up, it means you realized later that you weren't serious at all, just "had fun". And had fun means no love emotions, just fun emotions.

Quote:

Hmm not saying that virginity necessarily has to do with it, but you do know people have values, dignity, honor and stuff like that? Or at least had, nowadays they are more and more degenerated. Usually having sex just for the sake of it is kinda bad because it might destroy some of your values. Many people consider having sex with a prostitute that they lose their honor, and I fully agree. After all you subdue your values to your primitive instincts in this case.

Some people, consequently, don't steal even if they have the opportunity precisely because of this honor and values. Would you say they are stupid because "they did not have fun" with it (by stealing it)? I respect them whole-heartedly. They show mental evolution if you ask me.

@Azagal:
Quote:
Yeah what about them?
They are values similar to virginity.

No. It's objectively based. She is not pure in that context anymore. How do you define "pure" anyway? If you have pure water on one hand, and you put some substance in it, then it's not pure anymore.

if you have an experience in life, and you put sex into it, then you're not pure regarding that matter anymore. What isn't objective here?

To clarify..

I'm not against people having sex, I just don't like when they tell everybody they meet "I love you", since they kinda miss the meaning of that word..

I wouldn't care for my GF having sex before, but I would care for her treating me as "another on the list". It's simply humiliating.

And experience.. Bah, I'll HCM you with my counter, since this is improper for a PG13 board. Public version: I don't agree

Exactly what I meant
If people say that they love someone and tomorrow they break up, think about it: was that love or the urge to have fun? Seriously...

Treating someone as a list... bleh that has no honor at all and no respect to that person.

Its more like: "Wanna screw?" Then you get a yes or no back, add on religius points of view and stuff and you will get a complicated discrimination system at some point if its overdone.
The only curse about it is that the first time migth get stuck on your mind, and the fact some of the firsttimers tend to nervous about it.

Sorry just had to say that, and it sounds like an attempt to discriminate. I know about people doing it when they was 12 and 13, their choice. The worst partysex tends to be after that(done it, like it, why not?).
