I think it was worse before, but I haven't looked much into the comic for long. In any case, recently I got to check out the new years comics each year back and saw how cool it used to be and how bland it became.
Was it the "you're banned for your opinion that I don't like" strip? I don't think that one was particularly bad, considering she's an obsessed fan girl and I'd imagine it's a fan page she's administering. By those standards, there are probably more banned than non-banned members.

it was. and it had nothing to do with the girl, it was what she was banning. i've said some of those same things; that this guy doesn't see banning it as hypocritical and sexist is the reason i don't want anything to do with the asshat anymore.
and the newest one is the icing on the cake:
this guy has his head so far up feminists' asses, he's brushing their goddamn teeth for them now. he's gone from one spectrum of douchebaggery to the other. at least before he wasn't political about his douchebaggery. now it looks like he's trying to repent for having ever been born with a dick. he's bought the man-hate hook, line, and sinker. he's done more than that: he's feeding the rotten bait to others, and trying to pass it off as food.

I also don't like the gender plot, and it is what turned me away from the comic. I just don't find it interesting.
Take the characters opinions for what it is. All he does is to show that many of his main female characters are basically idiots.
I am sure very few women identify with those beliefs and I'd not be surprised if more fanatical aggressive people, of all genders, won't be targeting him, for various reasons, among which is being anti feminist as well..

i'm trying to find comics to post, but i'm not finding any worthwhile, that i can use in this discussion, and to stay on-topic.

if his comics are meant to be ironic, then i fail to see it. check out how he titles these comics. he's a believer of that hateful bullsnow through and through. it's because of what he spews as an more political entertainer, and how he apparently believes every word, that leads me to not wanting to even wade through all the garbage anymore, just to find the few worth reading.

3 women i know of believe akin to what he spouts: my mom, my aunt, and my grandma. my grandma is the source: she's a hateful old woman who lives by herself and lives off the pity of family members. she used to be nice, now she's constantly talking snow about her own family. ever since she stopped dating, she's become horrible. my mom and aunt followed suit. both my mom and my aunt have been in horrible relationships with guys, and neither of them have tried to let go of the past; they continually relive their pasts in every male they see(my aunt much less so). my mom treats me as an abuser even now when the mood takes her, even though i was abused the same as she by the same guy, and for far longer. my aunt is catching up to her and my grandma. it's horrible to watch; they all used to be happy(well, at least my aunt and grandma were; i'm doubting my mom ever was because of how her snow parents brought her up).
the reason i have a deep-seated hatred for feminism(and anything that claims equality but is actually anything but), is because hateful people use that platform to spout more stuff that people like my grandma listen to(because they're not exactly intelligent), and because my grandma is always calling either my mom or my aunt to talk every day, it's a trickle-down effect. not to mention, my mom's always watching the "lifetime" channel, which is a man-hate network(every show or movie is about a man being a rapist/abuser/murderer), and she's always watching daytime t.v. like "the talk" and other such garbage; which laugh about actual male issues, while horribly glorifying female issues.
every feminist i have talked to, have spouted the same thing at me: that i am somehow wrong or evil or owe anyone anything, simply by being born with a dick(or white, or whatever). it's sexist, racist, hateful propaganda spouted in the name of equality, and i despise it root and branch. what's particularly disturbing, is it's becoming the norm. among all the other problems facing humanity today, this one is one that will further divide people, instead of bringing them together.
i've made my peace with my old abuser. i've learned to live for the future, instead of dwelling in the past. some people seem incapable of that, and those people are given a voice(most of the time, with a megaphone and/or a t.v. show or network). there is no champion for actual equality anymore, if there ever was. there is no platform for actual equality.
now, the hate speech is even in COMICS, of all things. what's next? hate-speech cartoons for kids? teaching hatred to little kids through popular media? kids're already being coddled and catered to at an embarrassing rate, and now they're going to be taught to hate males. especially if they ARE a male.
i'm sure everyone here understands just WHAT hate speech does to people... it's evident in all of our history books, and is evident even today, throughout popular media. even if a horrible past existed, it will never be forgotten, since the past will always be dug up to feed hatred and the division of the populace. i've seen this all on a personal level, and i'm seeing it all on a global level. and i'm damn sure, that i'm not alone in this. hate speech should NOT BE TOLERATED, in ANY form. what it breeds is only MORE HATE.
now, i have been starting to see the same attitudes in my niece, of all people(though she is still largely resisting it). and she's one of the nicest, most caring people you would ever meet. THIS is what she has to look forward to, with the influences that she has today; both in her personal life, and with popular media.

I doubt it's ever going to be the norm..
In any case, I try to look at the material for what it is, and not who has made it. I don't care about the author, I care about his output. His output doesn't interest me, so I stopped reading it.
I think that the characters he portrays are morally just as bad as they always were before he went on the gender plot, but it is a plot I can't identify with, so it doesn't really hold any interest to me.
About some of the more general stuff and your own background you touched, interesting thoughts and also thanks for sharing some of the more private emotional parts of your life, but I don't think it's for this thread. My point was simply to say that I agree with you the comic is bad now, but I don't think it should be taken too personally, rather look at it as the characters being their usual idiot self..
