I tried adding transparency around the symbol but whenever I do it the file size goes ape****...

Glad you like them.
HC should seriously have a system where you can upload an avatar to HC yourself, or at least link one. The file-size problem could probably be regulated with a script that only allows avatars of certain size.

If someone who ISN'T Photochoptarded (<*points to self*> would be kind enough to crop away the background and resize it properly to meet the Avatar Requirement, I'd be very gratefull ^_^

No, they aren't. They are all pretty standard.
I want one with plenty of ~animo~ and I think RAGNAROK's thumbs-up is very fitting for me ^_^ (Close call between that and Cathy's slap)
I originally intended to take a Survivor Avatar, but they only rock when they move imo
Which reminds me that I actually just changed my Avatar on the Survivor Board I'm posting on. (The Twenty-First Season premiered yesterday and I change my Avatar once per each season, so it needed to be replaced stat

Frankly using a still image of these moments would not do them ANY justice and would also be a waste of Personalized Avatarianism. So Civ (and Ragnarok) it is ^_^

Is this what you mean by cropping? This might end up with a black border when it's used, but not sure about that. This is actually 100x123. I can make it smaller if both dimensions need to be under 100. The edges are a little rough, but I don't think you will notice unless you zoom in.
It lost a lot of detail when it was smallified. So I tried to bring some of that back with this one.

I tried that earlier but the quality lost was too high.
I'd suggest simply adding a border to Bin's version.
