This is going to be tough. I have a lot of Soundtracks but usually it's not the whole album (OST) that is interesting, but some songs from here and there... It's gonna be really tough for me to choose, but I'll try (and by "favorite" I mean 'slightly' or the fact that it has many good songs, not that the songs themselves are better than one other song in another album, so it's more like quantity and less emphasis on quality).

Another Bowie fan

I've been a fan of his since I was eight (yes, 100 years and counting )

One of my favorites by him is Pinups - a cover album he released in his Aladdin Sane days.

But that said, i love all of his music. Over the years I've had my collection in Vinyl, then upgraded to Cassette, then CD's and now I have an ipod full of Bowie lol..

Eventually I imagine I'll have a Bowie chip implanted in my head

Ok it was hard to choose but the following albums have the "most" (in quantity) interesting songs (IMO) from my collection, because I can't pick single songs (they are titles from movies/games anyway):

Azumi OST by Tarô Iwashiro
Recommended songs:
01 - Heart to Heart, 04 - Behind the Dream, 05 - Into the Sound of Darkness, 07 - In The Sense of Genuineness, 08 - Outroduction Before The New Day

Earthsea OST by Jeff Rona
Recommended songs:
01 - Main title, 02 - If not us, 03 - Ged and his teacher, 04 - Follow your path, 08 - Time to go, 11 - Sailing, 14 - Sparrowhawk, 20 - A discovery, 21 - My true name, 23 - A lesson learned, 25 - My strength, 33 - Light over Earthsea (yes there are a lot because there are 33 in total)

Planescape Torment OST (promo) by Mark Morgan
Recommended songs:
01 - Main Title, 02 - Nameless One Theme, 03 - Deionarra Theme, 05 - Annah Theme, 10 - Ravel Theme, 13 - The Shadows Theme, 17 - Sigil Battle, 18 - Catacombs Battle, 19 - Curst Battle, 21 - Fortress Battle, 32 - Fortress Of Regrets, 33 - Bad Ending, 35 - Good Ending, 36 - Intro Movie (37 songs total, so there are a lot of recommended ones as well)

Rambo 4 OST by Brian Tyler
Recommended songs:
01 - Rambo Theme, 03 - Conscription, 05 - Aftermath, 07 - Hunting Mercenaries, 09 - The Village, 10 - Rambo Returns Back, 11 - When You Are Pushed, 12 - The Call To War, 15 - Attack On The Village, 18 - Battle Adagio, 19 - Rambo Main Title, 20 - Rambo End Title

Terminator 3 OST by Marco Beltrami
Recommended songs:
01 - A Day In the Life, 04 - JC Theme, 06 - Hearse Rent A Car, 07 - Tx's Hot Tail, 08 - Graveyard Shootout, 09 - More Deep Thoughts, 11 - Kicked In The Can, 12 - Magnetic Personality, 14 - Flying Lessons, 15 - What Do You Want On Your Tombstone, 16 - Terminator Tangle, 17 - Radio, 18 - T3

The Forbidden Kingdom OST by David Buckley
Recommended songs:
01 - The Mountain of Fruit & Flowers, 04 - China Begins, 05 - Hops' Shop, 07 - The Legend of the Temple Staff, 10 - The Tyranny of War, 11 - Don't Forget to Breathe, 12 - Ni Chang & Her Cult Killers, 13 - Drunken Master Wounded, 14 - The Seeker of the Prophecy, 16 - Monkey King Released, 18 - Her Destiny Was Written, 19 - "As One Tale Ends..."

The Last Samurai OST by Hans Zimmer
Recommended songs:
01 - A Way Of Life, 03 - Taken, 05 - To Know My Enemy, 06 - Idyll's End, 07 - Safe Passage, 09 - Red Warrior, 10 - The Way Of The Sword, 11 - A Small Measure Of Peace (almost all the songs )

I also usually like Macro Beltrami's and Hans Zimmer's works, but most times there are not full albums to count in that (there are a lot of other good ones as well but just a few songs, not entire albums). Also of course I may have missed some that could be interesting, but this means I don't have them, so I couldn't consider them (usually I add stuff to my collection constantly).

EDIT: added more details with some good songs -- I know I put too many but it's really hard to choose

Excellent pick! But - how can you not mention Citizen Erased?

A couple of worthy candidates from my collection:

Genesis - Duke *or* We Can't Dance

Dire Straits - Love Over Gold

Eagles - Hotel California

Alanis Morisette - Under Rug Swept

Sheryl Crow - Sheryl Crow

Depeche Mode - Violator

Michael Jackson - Dangerous

Muse - Origin Of Symmetry *or* Absolution

R.E.M. - New Adventures In Hi-Fi

Pink Floyd - Pulse (technically, that's not an album I guess)

But I could go on ... and it always changes with time and mood.

Half a second in length wouldn't count as a song.

I have about 500 or so TD songs. Most of which go for over 10 minutes.

Hehe Ashy, there are some songs that do repeat at times (some sequencers or melodies are played for a short amount of time from some songs) but the majority of them don't repeat.

Hm.

Well I guess we're listing international bands, right? I don't believe anyone around here listens to ex-Yugoslavian rock

Well then, in no particular order (except Led Zeppelin IV being the first one):

1) Led Zeppelin - IV
*AC/DC - Back in Black
*Pink Floyd - The Wall
*Marilyn Manson - Golden Age of Grotesque
*Jimmy Hendrix - Are You Experienced
*The Cult - Sonic Temple
*Sex Pistols - Flogging a Dead Horse
*Within Temptation - Mother Earth
*Skip James - Complete Early Recordings 1930
*Black Sabbath - Paranoid
*Blues Brothers soundtrack
*From Dusk Till Dawn soundtrack
*Desperado soundtrack
*Requiem for a Dream soundtrack

Tons of others, but these crossed my mind as I was typing... If I remember some other extremely important ones, I'll keep you updated

My actual top 5 Albums (it allways depends on what is new and in what general mood I am) would partly be german ones with low worldwide popularity but nevertheless...

ASP - Zaubererbruder; Favorites: "Denn ich bin dein Meister", "Elf und einer", "Verwandlungen I-III", "Der geheimnisvolle Fremde",...well they all are so great, that's just why it's my favourite album in the moment *g*

Info: ASP is a German Goth-Rock band, who allways had electronic influences, but this Album has more of a Folk-like influence. It tells the story of "KRabat", a legend from Eastern Europe, that also had been adapted in a book by the rather well-known German child-book-author Ottfried Preußler (yeah, strange name, I know^^). But well, this album is just great, wonderful music, perfectly fitting to the dark, magical story... the best of this band so far, yet not well known, as I allready said.

Serj Tankian - Elect the Dead, Favorites: Beethoven C***, Saving Us, Sky is Over, Unthinking Majority, Baby;

Info: From the frontman of System of a down. Great, really melodic metal album, as we know from system but, well more melodic...

Tocotronic - Kapitulation, Favorites: Kapitulation, Aus meiner Festung, Verschwör dich gegen dich, Harmonie ist eine Strategie;

Info: Tocotronic is a great German Rock band, former they played Punk, today its softer and more melodic/harmonic and more a bit experimental...But one of my favorite bands and their newest album is awesome.

Across the Universe OST, Favorites: I've just seen a Face, I am the Walrus, Across the Universe, Strawberry Fields Forever;

Info: Across the Univese is a musical-like film, some (about 30^^) of the best beatles songs lead us to the story of a few young people. Mainly it's a lovestory, but also about friendship and containing all the important events in America of the sixties or so (Vietnam War, Protests, Assasination of M.L.King, and more). A great film and the interpretations of the beatles songs make those sometomes even better then the already great originals.

Kettcar - Sylt, Favorites: Dunkel, Agnostik für Anfänger, Nullsummenspiel, Wir müssen das nicht tun, Am Tisch;

Info: I suppose noone here will ever have heard of this bands, even if they're from Germany, but IT's great German Indie-Rock. Yet probably you have to understand the texts do understand it.

Well, just wanted to share it, allthough I guess you won'T know most of these albums^^

Agree on Elect the Dead.
Might as well add SOAD's "Toxicity" while we're there.

Now that I think of it, can't believe I forgot Guns and Roses' "Use Your Illusion 1&2", Deep Purple's "Anthology" and The Doors' self-titled first album.
God only knows what else I didn't mention.
