Game X, Y or Z?
Feeling indecisive about wich game/games to buy? Ask your fellow HC members's opinions here! Thats right! No need to make your own "Should I buy game X or Y?" or "I was thinking about getting a Wii. Do you know what games I should get for it?" -threads for now I, your friendly neighbourhood Keksimaton have forged one trhead to rule them all!
Should I get the upcoming Fable 2 or World of Warcraft: the Wrath of the Lich King -expansion? They both seem pretty cool.

Well... I, being a big "WoW suxxors lololo" guy, and a Fable fan, recommend you to buy Fable 2.
But this comes from a "WoW suxxors lololo" guy so...

I'd go for both. WotLK for the long run, and Fable 2 for a one-time awesome experience. Hopefully.
Eugen, I just wonder how much WoW have you play to have this absolutely pertinent "WoW suxxxx" opinion. My bet is 10 minutes on a private server. But I may be wrong.
The point is, WotLK will keep you up and running more than Fable 2. Much more. And of course, much more expensive in the same long run I was mentioning above, but hey, if you have the spendola, why not.

Well, I played WoW for a couple of weeks, maybe a month or two, forced by some friends of mine. 
But the WoW suxxx thing is just my opinion... And I think my WoW hate is because of other MMORPG, Lineage 2, which I played for some 3 years before playing WoW, and for me seemed a quadrillion times better, both in gameplay and graphics.
But, hey, that's just me.
And yes, Fable gives you a short time thrilling action whereas an MMO gives you a long time gameplay... It's your choice.

Asheera, you always mention the graphics in WoW. I don't like the game, but I am just wondering if you have played it? The gameplay is more important than the graphics in all games, imo.

I never played it, so I don't know about the gameplay, but what I said was 100% correct: the graphics are horrible - what's wrong or false in that sentence?

Well, I played WoW for long enough to solo grind a priest to level 60. I also did it 'the hard way' by not buying any gold, items, or such from the various sources for real cash. So I played for YEARS . However, I am now one of the WoW stinks people. Guess it was all the grinding. Got so sick of it, was not funny. Especially when I reached the kill 100 to see your 'exp' bar go up a 'sliver' part.
So WoW I would say no too. Fable 2..now that seems like a very interesting game.

You can't say a game sucks because the graphics aren't too good. Again, you always say things about something even when you haven't tried it.
Lemme give you an example of a game that is good but has poor graphics. Everyone has heard of the game, Doom, right? The graphics aren't really good, but you can't really expect too much for the time it was released, but the gameplay is awesome.
I'm just saying that just because a game doesn't have the best of graphics, doesn't mean that it is a bad game. You actually have to test it out before you can say if it is good or bad. Just what I think anyway.

Honestly, the graphics in WoW are just that WOW. Take a flight on a griphon once or twice and tell me it is not breathtaking. No, it is the endless money sink and grind that get me.

@William: I'm not that type. Very bad graphics do ruin the game for me. Of course, I don't say I like extra-great graphics that require the latest video card available - I hate those because I have a somewhat crappy video card
For example, the graphics of NWN 1 are great, I don't need fancy Oblivion graphics with slow-downs - what I dislike in graphics is if it's made too cartoonish like in WoW. Otherwise, even an old game like NWN 1 has decent graphics for me.
Oh and of course, the animations have to be nice.
And btw, I never said WoW sucks, only that the graphics & lore suck for me. And now that I think of this, I suppose WoW indeed sucks for me because of the cartoonish graphics, and the lore which I don't like at all.

We all have our likes and dislikes. For some it is Graphics, for some it is gameplay, for others it might be storyline, and for others still they might not like a game for any number of reasons.

Look what it's about: I'm not the "arcade" type or "power-gamer". I don't like just to go and kill enemies, collect points and move further on to next stage. I like to enjoy the realm and atmosphere of a game (not necessarily having a good story - but that's a bonus, of course), and if it's done cartoonish then it ruins the gameplay for me completely
So in this case graphics do ruin the game for me.

(although i personally hated fable)
I was thinking about possibly playing an MMO.
I have fond memories of EQ2 but I've always wanted to try wow

Looks like I'll have to get into this debate as well
@William, there is a BIG difference between bad graphics and cartoonish graphics. Gothic has good enough graphics for me (that's right, Gothic 1) because the "art" style is made to be as real as possible and gives you that feeling as well. Look at Team Fortress 2 -- while not a game made to be real, it has cartoonish graphics. If I am not wrong, it even requires a BETTER system to run than Gothic. This doesn't make it bad of course since it's made to be cartoonish -- but personally I don't like it. And I'm sure that was Ash's point as well.

What are you talking about?
Gothic has "bad" graphics -- the game is fine for me.
Something has "cartoonish" graphics (could even require a BETTER system) -- the game is not fine for me.

For me, graphics is a part of the gameplay...
And the cartoonish style doesn't appeal to me either
Some games with cartoonish graphics does appeal to me however, I'm not saying cartoon-style sucks... TF2 rules, but it depends on the game.
