Nothing extra.

But you'll have to do a lot of work and "allow" a lot of trusted sites after you install it (such as HC - but not in the state it is now )

I have the same problems, acrobat poped up from nowhere and svchost started using 99% of my CPU... had to restart my comp to stop it...

Unfortunately, I'm using Safari browser, and there's no NoScript program for it afaik. I guess this means back to Mozilla...

Nope, that was a script at Hc, as far as I've understood, after the page had been loaded, you would've recieved a PDF file whihc Adobe reader opens, after that, you might be infected.
Adobe Reader was running as a process, but didn't open as an application. And I don't think it opened anything, because I opened Adobe Reader and looked at the last few files opened, and there wasn't anything unusual there.

I've scanned 82% of my computer so far... no signs of infection so far

Hope everyone else turns out ok... and especially Hc itself...

It appears I am virus-free, so I'm no longer half as paranoid.  Therefore I'm back.  Sorry I didn't make a leaving thread about it.

Kaspersky scanned everything and didn't find anything. I should be safe now, right? I have NoScript now.

Hey guys... I just noticed something... at the top of the page, it no longer says "good evening Adrius!!", it just says "Adrius!!"

Anyone else getting this? (or is it part of some noscript thing?)

Yes, that's because you need scripts to make those 'if' statements about the time of the day.

So it's nothing to worry about, it's because you didn't allow scripts to work for HC through NoScript.

Well Kaspersky is one of the good anti-viruses out there (even though for me it would suck because it takes too many computer resources) so I suppose you're fine.

As for scripts, I never actually liked JavaScripts -- before NoScript I used to disable them manually in Firefox options. Of course they are needed but I always want the computer to ask me for permission before doing anything stupid (that's the case with Flash too, I have to allow them each time)

For those worried about whether or not they're infected, I Googled rootkit removal and got this guide that could help remove rootkits from your computer. There's also no real need to worry if you open the file as long as you do not reboot. The files are inactive until startup. Run UnhackMe before reboot and there's nothing to worry about.

here's the beginning of the file:

I lack the skills to make much sense of it, but you can notice it opens up a stream, which enables writing to the hard disk.

A hex editor/viewer is better, like the File Viewer in Total Commander. I can easily spot whether a file is corrupt, compressed or other things (it requires some "skill" but you get used to it)

I did some fixing, does anyone still get any errors/downloads on heroescommunity.com domain? Be sure to clear your browser cache to make sure it's not the cached file displaying with hack code.
