Top 5
1. Nina Williams - My personal favorite. Looks great and talks nasty I even handle her the best in the series!
2. Tifa Lockheart - My clear favorite from FF chicks and again for a girl she is a heck of fighter.
3. Lara Croft - Haven't played all the Tomb games but the first ones sure made me love the character. Sex symbol.
4. Shania - Hot, hot, hot! If i only could take this character and move it to previous game my life would be complete.
5. Quistis Trepe - It was close call but after harder valueting i figured i like this character much more than the next in line Yuna.
These ladies look great and all of them have the fight skills for a main party. (Team or single in 1&3)

Is this dead? Hopefully not since we didn't get the result yet.
I know there are a lot of FF chicks here but I'm going to suggest one more, Celes Chere from FF VI.
Celes Chere is a natural full blonde, wields a runic sword and prefers Magitek armor, elegant dresses, stylish clothing and absolutely fabulous boots.
She also commands half of the empire's army as one of it's two generals. Raised from child to be loyal to the empire and emperor Gestahl she has risen to the rank with emperor's favour at the young age of 18. Make no mistake, for she is unrivalled in fighting skills due to the fact that she is geneticly engineered to be nothing short of perfect. She also has had artificially imbued to her the ability to use magic, making her the only human to be able to wield such destructive power. So don't make her mad if you don't wish for a meteor to strike you down. 
She will be waiting for the result eagerly. In the mean time you'll probably find her in the newest opera.

Celes was nice and much hotter than Terra imo. If any of earlier ffs chicks should be nominated it should be Celes no doubt about that she is babe.
Funny that you mentioned her boots, i often combared Celes to Nancy Sinatra Those boots really where made for her to walk on or something like that...
I keep this 'contest' on for end of the month, i'll be around at my ladys house, posting when i have the time
