Probably it is worthless but I have to ask the same question as 4 guys before me.
Does anyone is in a possesion of Improved Heroes icons mod? Can you, please upload it again? It's too good to leave it that way ;p
EDIT2:
I was trying to make such a mod myself, but I wasn't able to find equivalent of \GameMechanics\CreatureVisual\Creatures\[...] for heroes.
Does anyone know where can I find it?

Heroes have their visuals BUT their icon directories are store in a different place - inside .(AdvMapHeroShared) files as "Icon64 href=" or "Icon128 href=" and so. The only thing you have to do is to copy and paste the 128's directory to 64's slot

They're stored in MapObjects/RACE_NAME/SCRIPT_HERO_NAME.(AdvMapHeroShared).
Examples:
MapObjects/Haven/Ving.(AdvMapHeroShared) -- Irina
MapObjects/Necropolis/Berein.(AdvMapHeroShared) -- Markal
MapObjects/Stronghold/Hero4.(AdvMapHeroShared) -- dunno cuz I don't have access to my H5 at the moment, but there DOES exist a hero like that

OK, I've done it!
Now this mod consists of both: Improved Creature Icons and Improved Hero Icons mods.
It is available to download from Behemoth's Liar MODs list. Click!
