Hum, the BETA is in fact closed, cause the program has completely changed in its mode of action. It is still in development !!

BTW, has anyone found something about the unresolved problem I mentionned in the posts above ?

Your code seems fine, I think the problem lies in the .txt file

Copy a text file from Nival ones, and rename it and place in its correct folder, then modify it with Notepad, write what you have to and go to File->Save.

See if it works this way.

Very strange : it works.
But the strangest is that it is coded in UNICODE too, as the original file that is not displayed...

EDIT : Now it works fine always... Strange...

The BETA is now downloadable !! Try it and give me your reports of bugs and mistakes of orthography/syntax (also for the help file) please...
Tell it when you download

Dont forget to install, if not done yet, the Framework.Net before using the Heroes V Quest Editor.

Some things:

If MapScript.lua is absent then that crashs on "Path to map LUA"

It is not simple to remember of all ID or all stuff as artifact, skill, spell, creatures, etc.
You should make a ComboList with all possible IDs instead of to be in obligation to write them each time.

I encourage you to go on all your projects , TSoD.

This program can really help mapmakers in their works to make better maps in the gameplay.

@Simonak : The combo lists for IDs are already planned for the next version. If you type something in the textboxes that wait for a creature ID, you'll see a list of all the IDs of TotE (I've not added the NCF ones yet).

EDIT : And you know, I have no problem when pointing a folder that contains only map.xdb and not MapScript.lua . The program show a message that says it has created a MapScript.lua file next to the map.xdb one. Next, in adding the quest, the MapScript.xdb one is created too. And there is no problem for me...

EDIT 2 : And also all, don't forget to read the .chm help file, it could help you for the first time you use the Quest Editor

Yes, it's true and also adding NCF will be excellent

often, the programmer doesn't live the same problems than the users. If that crashs for me perhaps that will
crash for another person. It's not a big big problem...but that may be boring.

Personnaly, I don't need of this program because I use always Seerhuts from RTMG.

Quests are pratically same but created by random instead of by a human.
So the surprise effect (which will be the quest?) is keeping each time when we're meeting one of it.

It's a good program and you should present your mod at the Mapmakers on HC's Tournament of Honor forum.

I think the majority of them are there.


For my share, I'm ready to help you concerning NCF integration if need is there.


NCFs are already include in RTMG Seerhut quests.
