Tournament of Honor Radio Station
I have been looking into the matter and I know some people who could help set this up. If MMORPG's like World of Warcraft and Guild Wars can have gamer radio stations then why couldn't we?
ToH is a global entity with a lot of support, interestingly enough, from chess player enthusiasts world wide. Toh already has an awesome website and one of the more legendary HoMMer's of all time Vesuvius.
I think there are enough people who love Heroes community from Tournament of Honor and WoG who might support and enjoy a Tournament of Honor radio station.
Everyone knows how dedicated the people at WoG are. And everyone knows how popular Tournament of Honor is with it's global support. The Heroes Community website is the first best site to be the main website of a radio station that supports our love for all things HoMM related.
The radio station would need a head of operations and department head from ToH and WoG. It would need a 24 hour live stream of music and also ask for volunteer Dj's from the community itself to host events that directly or indirectly support all things HoMM related.
I think the quality of this website is so good that it should be expanded upon. All the work that Valeriy, Vesuvius, and the folks at Wog should never be forgotten or lost to history.

not sure if we are enough players but still....
like you say we are world wide.... so

The Numbers
I am making movies for a radio station website that is doing quite well with only about 20 listeners at any given time.
I think everyone here knows Tournament of Honor has many more possible listeners than that and could do even better.
A 24 hour music stream would be even better for a group of people who are globally spread like those of the ToH and Heroes Community and WoG.
But I am most excited about listening to a radio show that would be like a sports commentary on tournaments for HoMM! We could have dj's calling it play by play move for move for the top level tourney finals! Similar to a chess match but even better!
DUDE AWESOME!

Sounds good, but where exactly would be its coverage? If you mean an 'online' radio station, I guess I can understand. But again where would the radio station be hosted?

The radio station would be a live stream hosted on the internet. (just like a website)
I kinda was hoping to keep Heroes Community involved if you decided to do it because if you did it and it became really popular then you might not feel like you need Heroes Community any longer. You could have a live 24 hour stream hosted through your ToH website. I just feel like ToH is awesome and all, but we owe alot to Valeriy's community here. And it would certainly help bring in listeners for you. And as you know listeners to a radio station is much like views/hits to a web domain. There is in fact a monetary value placed on the amount.
Let me give you an example of what I do when I listen to the Guild Wars radio station: I click on one of the website links and then minimize the link while I play with game sound set to off.
And that's for a massive graphics engine game. Think how easy it would be for someone running HoMM.
I've always wished that members of your honor council would give verbal commentary on saved tournament replays. We may not be able to watch them as they play but in many cases the saved games were AWESOME to watch. Problem was I never learned much simply by watching it myself. Just like a sports commentator, the members of your honor council (or other designated dj spokesperson) could have given their expert assessments of special moves that the common gamer might normally miss so that the listener could find a new appreciation for the awesome high level tournaments taking place.
You could also host a live video stream from the website showing webcam views of ToH parties hosted at someone's house or other location.
This is all in an effort to breathe life back into this place. I refuse to let this great place and the people here slowly fade away into an empty corner of some happy memory.
No matter how much these new game developers keep screwing up subsequent games.....Heroes of Might and Magic IS NOT DEAD! Trying to say that it's dead would be like trying to say the game of chess is dead. There are games in history that simply never lose their luster and I believe Heroes of Might and Magic is one of them.

Setting up a radio is not a problem. What I worry about is the material you're going to broadcast, It dioesn't look like there is going to be a lot of it, at least no to fill few hours of shedule with interesting content? You'd have to go far beyond ToH and ToH.

By contrary,I think that's plenty of material to fill out in a radio station, even if a dj is not online all the time...but indeed, first of all the "TOH" Radio Station stuff have to be well "prepared" before, then we can have loads of titles....too many cross my mind right now, just dont dare to mention all, but only couple of them....TOH history, Maps, Music.....

Would it be possible to have open mic night? For example anyone who wants to meet in the chatroom for example if they have a mic for computer can talk and debate and it would be broadcast?

Yes an open mic is easily created by the use of Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Skype, etc. All of these are free internet speaking programs. That's how many of the radio stations sometimes choose to take "callers". They don't actually use a phone. They simply hand out teamspeak/vent addresses or set up calls on skype.
But this can be a big problem when getting calls from more than 10 people. That's a lot of people talking at once in the same room. For this to be successful there would need to be a room regulator with full control to turn off people's microphones in the room so others can talk. All of that power resides with the owner/host.
With regard to ideas for ToH radio shows:
1. Game commentary
2. History of ToH
3. Free giveaways (websites will sponsor you for it)
4. Match commentary
5. Special chat party events lasting 30 minutes
6. Hall of Fame segment (naming the legends and the greats for their skill)
7. Hall of Shame segment (ultimate losers could be created as a joke for April Fools) with a special award given....."Nooblet of the Year"
8. Customized ToH T-Shirts/ball caps giveaways
9. Segment discussing all-time greatest Heroes Community threads and posters
10. And also.....set up special television/radio commercials for ToH (that's what I do for the people of the radio I listen to right now)

Again, I do need to be the voice of realism here. You are comparing a game that has about 100 times (maybe a lot more) actives than heroes and/or ToH has. If one made a radio station, it would have to be for the entire heroes community, not just ToH. So that would mean celestial heavens, heroes community and ToH all in one.
I'm also not well versed in how something like this is run -- and how would we get all our voices on such a station?
But as for music, ohhh I have so much heroes music saved -- in fact every soundtrack from heroes 1 thru 5

Internet Webcasting
Greetings all! Great topic to be discussing. it sounds like you all have the right ideas to get started. there isn't a lot involved with adding an internet radio broadcast to youR community. i started with a simple word press site 3 years ago and blew up from there. the most important thing to do aside from having a solid stream for broadcasting is to keep the content changing for the listeners.
schedualing one or two hour shows several times a week and or bi weekly is a good start to keep you listeners entertained. i wrote an informative article last month that covers the very basic ends of setting up an "internet radio station." it is simple and does not detail the tech side, it can be read at the posted link below.

If you want it to be the most active then basing it for HC as a whole would be your best bet. It's a good idea, and I pretty much agree with what Vesuvius said.

"In today's news: TheUltimateMale has decided Vesuvius has lost his manliness. In other news: The good folks at W.O.G. have created a larger cup size for Queen Catherine and the Mage of the Land has issued a proclamation of decree requiring all gremlins to hence forth be generated in the airship for sole purpose of being shipped off to some other person's castle during mating season. On a side note the Tournament of Honor globally reknowned Honor Council will be holding an official broadcast of a play by play breakdown in the semi finals. Back at Heroes Community one of the legendary Moderators known as Pandora recently left a post describing her intention to gather 7 phoenixes and execute the drive-by implosion technique on the Volcanic Wastelands to increase efficiency."
Stuff like that would make a great radio transmission.
