WoG Duels
Needless to say, this thread is a shameless rip off of Elvin's Duel Map Tournament, so all the fame, fortune and scantily clad ladies go to him.  The oldtimers will notice the concept is similar to the Tactician's Corner map, but this time with stack experience. Salamandre provided the script featuring the Dark Tower, a customized object where you can buy additional abilities for your creatures. He was also kind to test the map and do some additional tweaking.
The map could use some feedback (especially regarding starting heroes and balance issues), so feel free to post your suggestions here.
If there are enough people we could organize a small tournament, but even random 1vs1 duels are a lot of fun. 
To play you'll need:
- WoG 3.58f (and no additional patches)
- the Duel Map (updated to v1.3)
- Hamachi 1.0.1.5
...and somebody to play with so join the wog_duel network (password is wog_duel) and ask for a game. 
If you haven't played before, don't worry - just choose multiplayer > TCP/IP > host (or join) the game. Use Tab + your message + Enter to chat in-game.
No rules just a few tips:
- buy all creatures (Dungeon gets additional 21 Infernal Troglodytes from the Seer Hut and Necropolis can turn them into Skeleton Warriors) BEFORE opening Pandora's Box
- get all the bonuses
- visit the Dark Tower to change/get creature skills
- enter the portal and fight in the oasis on DAY ONE

The latest editor patch is compatible. Also clicking under the town name when being inside will allow buy all creatures available in one click. Unfortunately using Commanders gave us the synchronize data bug, so they were removed in instructions.

So, what happens if I buy no obstacle penalty for my Pikemen?

You waste 30 of each resource.
You may add that the player, red or blue has to open the P. box AFTER he recruited all the creatures available because the Pandora box gives 11 experience ranks to them. Also maybe berserk should be removed both from dark tower and mage guilds: too cheap.

Maybe, but it's not a 100% chance to cast Berserk after an attack, is it? Besides, it can be countered... Let's see what others have to say.

Can't deny Vlaad the opportunity to humiliate me in public Plus I get the royalties. Extremely noobish question, where do I get wog 3.58f? Will soon get heroes complete and then I'm game!

I remember Pol at Celestial Heavens once uploaded 3.58f, complete with loads of bonus stuff ready for installation (VCMI, Acid Dragon's patches, others) when I told him I had major trouble finding it anywhere. It's still on CH, I suppose. I don't have the link anymore, but ask him for it and I'm sure he'll give it to you.

Vancho1 and I gave it a try, but had desync by the end of the battle. *sigh*
It was fun though, he got Necro + Rebirth.

Should test more rebirth, it may be possible that it gives desync.
Even in single player, we have desync when:
The creature is scripted to regain health each turn
The creature rebirth
Ressurection is used (by AI)
Dispel

The Desync occured when Vlaad's Evil Eyes attacked my Wraiths in both games. See if there is a solution, ok?

This time I got Block and Strike-and_Return, nothing else. Nothing on Evil Eyes though. Vancho1, what about your Wraiths...?
But the thing is it can happen even for reasons unrelated to WoG, such as Internet connection... I simply wasn't able to play H4 with some people, while I could with others.
We should test the map without the Dark Tower to see if it works better.

Not sure what link you're referring to, but it should be the same file... These are just different mirrors.

Well, I did put 2x damage on my wraiths..
I could try from another computer.
The problem will probably be fixed when I go back to the USA, because here, (Undisclosed location) I am behind a "Port-Restricted Cone NAT router". Maybe that caused the desyncs.
