Introducing Halflings

Beyond these walls lies the dread land of Eeofol, a land of tremendous volcanic rifts and prodigious lava flows.  Demons of all types and forms patrol the land, a land once fertile and green and populated by a peaceful race of little people called Halflings.  That was until the Night of Shooting Stars when the Kreegans came.  Now all that is left of their race is a few pocket villages.  The demons scattered them to the four winds and turned them into an embittered people with little hope and no place to truly call home.

But after the Reckoning, when most Elves and Dwarves fled to Axeoth, the Halflings reclaimed their homeland...

HALFLING TOWN, ERM script v1.0 (temporary script name: script83)

2. installation
3. uninstallation

1. FEATURES

Before you ask - no, there are no new creatures. It's just a custom script introducing:

- 17 new heroes (replacing Rampart heroes)
- Mystic Pond produces 3-6 Rocs a week
- Rampart creatures replaced by

Pixies > Sprites
Halflings > Rogues
Gold Golems > Diamond Golems
Sharpshooters > Lava Sharpshooters
Dendroid Guards > Dendroid Soldiers
Sorceresses > Enchanters
"Hatchlings" > Faerie Dragons
UPDATE: in v. 1.0 it's Faerie Dragons > Azure Dragons

Notes:
- all the creatures count as Rampart troops
- Halflings are level 2 with stats similar to those of Archers
- the speed of Gold and Diamond Golems nerfed from 5 and 6 to 3 and 4
- "Hatchlings" are Faerie Dragons with halved health and cost - left-click the Upgraded Dragon Cliffs to upgrade "Hatchlings" to Faeries (removed in v. 1.0)

- if the Homestead is pre-built, the player gets 7 Golems... but on the other hand, no hero starts with level 3 creatures
- I haven't adjusted external dwellings in this version, but there is a hero who upgrades Dwarves and Wood Elves to Lava Sharpshooters
- Rocs can be recruited for free in the Mystic Pond, but building the Fountain of Fortune disables this option (I might change this though)

New heroes:

Thanks. I should add that the script is optional, meaning you can still play standard Rampart if you disable Halflings in your WoG Options.

Yeah, one of my favorites too. I still play it sometimes, although it's ten years old (same as H3)! My old avatar, which I had for five years, was from that game. I wish I could include some units from AoW in my Halfling lineup, like Satyr, Leprechaun and Eagle Rider....

I don't have to try
The Lava Sharpshooter is replaced by a different creature there
I do consider reinstalling heroes without AcidDragon's patch

Bah, it was a time for change. The old avatar was too... condescending. The new one is from Disciples 3, hopefully another great game.

I always thought your avatar change was connected to the change of your 'title' from Honorable to Admirable The old avatar really fitted the title Honorable

Naturally I don't like the mod as it's not compatible with my New Upgrades patch ;P.

But I admire the work .

And because one of my Guardians (at Acid Cave) pointed out this topic to me, and I had some free time on my hands (which is not often ), I did a small website using the info from this thread. We also agree that it would be just a waste if a mod that is actually finished (something that happens even less often ) was forgotten.

I hope you don't mind Vlaad
The mod itself is - of course - hosted there too.

no problem. Updating and image or some text is not very hard to do .
However if you do update something - send me a short email/pm please .

The page isn't much, but I figured that it's still better than a forum thread or a download link .

EDIT:
I do have one concern however. Tell me if I'm wrong, but aren't you adjusting the Faerie Dragons' parameters globally? I mean - It seems as if you change the parameters for all players (including enemies) depending on whether you have an upgraded level 7 dwelling somewhere. What happenes when two players meet and one has Hatchlings, while the other has (should have?) Faeries? Or what happens if you don't have any dragon dwelling at all and attack (in your turn) a player that has an upg level 7 dwelling built (and has Faeries)?

You're right, of course. The script could you use some polishing and that's why I named it v0.9... There are probably more exploits that I have overlooked. Hopefully the current issues are not a big deal for casual singleplayers.

As for updates, I think I'll be updating only the script itself. I'll notify you when I'm done.

LOL I get no error messages... The script is almost certainly not compatible with all the other WoG options. Could you please post those some time (or send me a private message)? Gotta check that too.

I would suggest using two different creatures after all.

There's just too much messing around with trying to have one creature act like two. maybe a green dragon upgraded to faerie? or putting a gorynych somewhere there
