HOMM 1 installation problem

I don't know where else to post this so it goes here.

Every time I try to install I get this bloddy error




The error says: General file transfer error. Please check your target location and try again.

so please someone help

If you are using Vista run setup as administartor or/and compatibility mode for XP. If you are using 7 it should install normally. On XP and 7 I had no problems with installation and running.

I followed what you suggested but the same error keeps popping up and yes I have tried restarting and even tried in simplified mode but this keeps on coming.

The words "file transfer" make me think it could be something on the disc that is corrupted. Hey, but I'm probably wrong.
