Yes quitting it can be hard, but thank Gods I made it easily.
With help from friends, beer(insane amounts), street basketball and my girlfriend.

I don't get why is it so hard to quit WoW. I hear stories, see people put up vids on you tube about deleting their maxed chars. I play wow occasionally but generally after a short period(between 1 week-2 month) I stop cause I'm so bored.
Generally it's a great game, but it gets boring so fast.
Though I have to admit I only played it on private servers.
Anyway, congrats of getting out of it.

There's a very thin line between addiction and just doing something because it's fun.
In my opinion, you're addicted to gaming once you just play because... well just because. You're just sitting there leveling you're character without actually having fun.
WoW is kinda like a trap that way, there's all this magical and awesome stuff in the distance but you'll have to work your ass off to get there... and once you do have that awesome stuff a new expansion arrives and your stuff is suddenly old and boring. And the cycle continues.
Games should be fun from the beginning, I don't wanna have to work to get to the fun... guess that's why I don't like WoW..... arrgh.

I don't understand why someone would even start WoW (or any MMO, for that matter). Compared to, say, JRPGs, they're just boring. The gameplay isn't that great, and the story isn't that prominent... all it is is grinding.

Exactly! WoW was fun alot! But, then it got kinda boring... and then, really boring. Until WOTLK came out It was fun..., then boring again

Ha, it's about up to a month till it becomes a total grindfest.
And then up until a new content patch comes out. Then it's a week of wipes, and a week of loot. And then again a total grindfest.

Hey, decided to write in here since i also decided to quit, for several reasons  See i got 2 level 80's, which both are the most underpowered classes in the game. A hunter, and a death knight.
Besides, Wow've gotten all the same, and as it is now, some messed up bullsh*t if i have to be honest. I've been addicted for some years i have to admit. Tbc was so awesome, and the leveling to 80 was also awesome, but then, 3.1 changed everything, then Blizzard messed it up, so i have 4 words, since im not contineuing.
Goodbye World of Warcraft.
Just my story The game have been fun and interesting, GG Blizzard in changing that...

read 3.1 patch notes and 3.2 patch notes and you'll see why death knight are underpowered :/
For hunters to say, since 3.1 i've had a dps on 1700 in naxxramas? i mean wtf. I'm geared for what would be full t7,5 and full epic. I was on 2700-3700 or such pre 3.1 <.<
Using the exact same talents, rotation and stuff, my dps went sooo low. Only stuff Blizzard TOLD us was explosive shot nerfed with 10% base damage, Lock'n'Load function changed, and we got a new DoT which also gives us 6% damage increase while its on the target.
luckily i dont have to worry about that now since i quitted

Yet again it says I had "like a 8 month" break.
Im sure I can google my characters name and find old posts I made from 2007-2008. Obviously not 2006 as I had a break between June 2006-January 2007 (thats around 8 months).
I dont agree that DKs and Hunters are underpowered and quiting because your class is balanced is kind of... But then I dont want to go off-topic so I wont post my opinions about that.
But Hunters are top dps on the Ulduar hard modes and Algalon.

It's one of the reasons for why im quitting, also because it've gotten all the same boring stuff in my opinion, not like it once was.
Also because the game's pretty addicting, and i spent REALLY much of my time on that game, many hours a day. Aint healthy.
And well i havent played for a long while due to exams and stuff, havent really had time, and yea i dont think i would go back to WoW anyway now.
