Harry Potter :D

So tomorrow at around 15:00 (it was the only time in the large hall with good places in the middle-middle) im gonna see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

I hope the movie actually focuses on Snape and its not to much snuggling and hugging (it wasnt in the books= >.<

I will review it tomorrow. So far it has life 95% on Rotten Tomatos.

To bad a coke in thë swedish cinema almost costs 2 euro >.>

Meh, sometimes you have to sacrifice  some money. Its not like it will make a huge difference anyway. Im just going to see Polar bears this weekend. I will take pictures and upload myself on HC then, then you will see how scary my eyes are! I look like Voldemort!

edit: Apparently, in swedish capital Stockholm, water from the Cinema costs 4 euro in some places xD
Im glad I live in a "lagom" sized city. Örebro.

Be careful. I would hate for you to accidentally get eaten by a Polar Bear. They say the best way to avoid danger is to cover yourself in seal fat.

The actor who does Snape is great.

The actor who does Dumbedore is HORRIBLE! He said in an recent interview that his view on Dumbledore was kind of a "scary" person. He also said he refused to read the books. Maybe thats why he was horrible in Goblet of Fire and OotP...

No, but I got shady stuff under my eyes. I look like a psycho mass murderer.

Good old Alan Rickman is such a great actor IMO. I wish the Harry Potter movie series would end so he can hop back into mainstream movies with some fresh parts. He made a spectacular Die Hard villain and Sheriff of Nottingham, but those movies are so distant

How is it possible to like the movies more then the books? -.-
And wasnt it rather obvious that Snape would die in the end anyway?
Okey, I will do a small spoiler warning regarding the certain death in the end of the film then.
So here is my review that I promised.

SPOILER WARNING FOR THOSE THAT HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK(S)

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Before we start, im gonna tell you about a little incident at the cinema. Anyway, the cinema hall (which is huge) or whatever you want to call it was REALLY hot. There were like 400 people perhaps in there. And to our missfortune, we stood in this huge row and when we finally were about to pay, my dads stupid credit card didnt work. So no coke and snacks for me. I thought I was going to kill him. EVERYBODY else were there eating candy and popcorn all the time and drinking coke.

----

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is awesome at the start of the movie. The opening scene features a series of attacks in London.
Including, the destruction of a famous landmark in the city. It came to my suprise, that even though the series are supposed to be set in the 90s, this "attacked" monument was not finished untill the 21th Century.

Also there is quite an ackward scene at the start when Harry flirts with a black waitress at the Subway station. Its funny and Dumbledore comments that she was indeed an attractive woman even though Dumbledore is gay (which I thought sucked).
So Dumbledore takes Harry to Slughorns house. Slughorn is hilarious and the actor is great. Slughorn is perhaps the funniest character that has ever been in the series.

One thing I dont like about this movie was that details were never made clear. It doesnt feel as rushed as Order of the Phoenix, but they skip a lot of details and it might be confusing for those that have not read the book, because a lot of stuff is never made clear. My dad didnt understand that Hermione was together with Ron in the end. That Ginny was ever in a relationship with Harry.

That Harry breaks up with Ginny is never mentioned. Instead, all the love stuff in the movie is focused on Rons relationship with Lavender Brown - something which was very minor in the book compared to Ginny and Harrys relationship etc.
And its not clear what Dracos mission is. Its never said that he is there to kill Dumbledore.

As usual, they skip a lot of stuff. And add some stuff for themself. Not only do they pretty much skip or rush the relationship between Ron/Hermione and Ginny/Harry a lot in favor for Ron/Lavender but they also skip the Gaunts memory and Dumbledore never gives Harry a mission and never hints what he thinks the horocruxes are.
Not to mention, that many of these skips and additions will affect the last two films alot. The Burrow gets attacked and destroyed in the film. But in Deathly Hallows they have a freaking marriage there. Fleur and Bill doesnt even appear in the movie. Tonks doesnt look or feel like Tonks.

But the largest thing that was skipped was the Half-Blood Prince himself. They mention "Who is the Half-Blood Prince?" once in the movie. The book was about the Half-Blood Prince, Its called the Half-Blood Prince. Yet, the movie almost never focuses on the half-blood prince. They never even speculate who it was and my dad thought it was Voldemort... However, I like that the movie hints at that Harry is a horocrux.

The ending is both great and disappointing. Harry isnt paralised by Dumbledore, but instead hides under the floor. There is no battle at Hogwarts. And the film doesnt end with Dumbledores funeral. The funeral isnt even in the actual film, you dont even see the grave. Only Harry and Ginny bending over Dumbledores lifeless body. The movie should have ended with the white funeral, but it ends with Harry, Ron and Hermione standing in the astronomy tower chatting.

The actors are great and the movie is really funny sometimes. I was really disappointed in the soundtracks. Please replace the new guy who did the audio. And the scene in the cave with Dumbledore is great, but feels a bit rushed in the end. I love how there was an ear-shattering scream when an Inferi hand appeared out of nowhere on the screen. The scream? It was from an 8 year old girl but the entire audience, including me, almost fell backwards because of the surpise moment. The effects are also really nice.
Draco is also great in the movie.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince is excellent as a movie. Perhaps the best one in the series. But Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince does not stay extremly faithful to the story. At all. I was shocked to see that the funeral wasnt there and no mention of the wedding etc. It isnt even clear that Tonks is together with Lupin. And not even mentioned that she is pregant.

Harry Potter snd the Half-Blood Prince gets 3 and a half star from me. Its a great movie, but it doesnt stay faithful to the books. It was a really close fourth star though.

Lets just hope that Deathly Hallows, as two films, wont feel rushed etc. Oh, and Half-Blood Prince felt a bit short too. Perhaps they should remove the made-up assault on the Burrow and focus on scenes that were actually in the book?

 3.5/5 or 7/10

I don't seem to remember much of them truth be told, but then again, after chamber of secrets I was convinced (disillusioned) that there was nothing inherently sacred about movie adaptations. In fact, I realised the horror that could befall beloved series when they were adapted to movies.
Oh, well...
