Quote: The copy map is very interesting. I am very curious to how did you implement it. Does it use type/subtype when storing in memory?
It uses the way Map Editor stores objects in clipboard. Sure, type/subtype is stored there.
Quote: Is there a similar way via script to create stored lands while in game?
As far the types/subtypes available with !!UN:I are very limited and mostly crashing the game.
If you copy the control word (OB:C) too, it probably will make the game work, but certain objects would be linked to those you copied.
For example, original dwelling and it's copy will have the same amount of creatures. Like, if you hire all creatures in the original dwelling, the copied dwelling would be also empty.

Because the sun goes up in the mourning Tell me what error do you get and when? Data\MapEdPatchLogs\ folder will probably keep an error report.

If you copy the control word (OB:C)
I have no idea what OB:C (Set/check/get control word of object) does. Can you please give a hint? "Control word" is rather confusing.

Wight, what exactly happens when you run Map Editor?
OB:C contains some properties of the object. For example, quantity of resources. Things that don't fit into 4 bytes are stored separately in arrays and in this case OB:C contains index in that array.

After installing the patch, commanders are "nothing" in the editor. Any ideas? I have also Phantom patch installed.

Not only commanders. All WoG monsters. Here's the fix: http://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/wog/ZEOBJTS.rar

Just to notice that the last compilation of all patches, made by Fcst1 can't be installed. I don't know what happens, but the install is aborted
C:\Program Files\3DO\Heroes 3 Complete\Data\H3sprite.lod Size = 86125233
Critical error in file C:\Program Files\3DO\Heroes 3 Complete\InstallWoG\AVXSND10.DEF, install aborted
Erro in action: Create file
I tried in all ways, couldn't do it.

The object is from Phantom patch (1.8) and it is decorative, passability full free. Changing it to "part of the ground" and cloning with ctrl+drag gives the error message and map crash. Like always, doing this with h3objed.exe does not generate the error.

Neither do i. But i think this control word may be very interesting. As far as i know there is some documentation about in in russian. But i don't know where. I only know this control word is a rather complex structure, unique for every object, controlling most of the objects aspects.
I was interested in this control word when i tried to implement a mine production doubling script, only those mines doubling production when a resource hero of same type visited the mine. I think that f.ex. mine production is stored there. But i have no idea how.
If anyone has the information, it would be great to share it.

Only in russian forums you can ask this, english section. Then...wait for an answer, depends the mood they are. Sometimes, I never got an answer, so prepare yourself with patience.

This is interesting. I once had the idea of a map with a "moving" town. So, assume, i have a town somewhere. then i want to copy it to another location, then delete the original. Maybe (if necessary) copy any heroes and creatures in town garrison to new town. Would that copy the town with all its setup to the new location? including name, buildings, creatures to hire and so on? And how to copy an object with erm?

Thanks. I've fixed it. The new version is soon to come. Here you can test it: http://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/wog/H3WMapEdPatch.rar?attredirects=0&d=1

I've uploaded it here: http://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/wog/ob-c.rar?attredirects=0&d=1
Appended my addition in the end.

Thanks, any explanations why this generated crash? What will the new version improve?
Also do you know if the editor has some limits in objects number? So far I did not see any (working with 2600+) but wouldn't like to push too much.

You would probably need to set type of town entrance to something neutral like Oak Trees to make sure deletion doesn't change the inner structure. Then place new town. Then copy the control word you saved. Tell me how it goes after you try this.
