LOTR map
ill make a lotr map, and later maybe hobbit and lotr campaigns for homm3.
ill be posting my progress here and youll be comentating it

heh.. I have a few...
but I'll wait till HoMM4 to create one... the new hero system is better for character based map...

hehe this LOTR map making is obviously really popular. I know that Tim made a LOTR map, then i have also tried another LOTR map that some guy made (dont remember his name though). I havent read the books yet and prolly i wont do it either because im not the book reading type of a guy. Im more of a sports freak  (which means im to lazy to read a book and will wait for the movie  )
Anyway, i liked the movie and i think its great that so many ppl dedicate a map to a thing they really like. The only problem is that is quite hard for me to do a soccer map for heroes3

Yeah ive played a lord of the rings map before, think i got it from archangel castle last year sometime.
Cant remember the name of it either :/ And ive since reformated my PC

you have a problem there! try sports AND books... it is a good combo.

Seriously, I dont like reading that much either... Much more fun to go to sleep than to start reading a book

HoMM4 make a Lord of the Rings Map?? Unlikely, the closest relation HoMM3 had to Lord of the Rings is having Elves & Dwarves (only because of the theme of the town) in the same town; and Goblins and Wolves on the same town (though they are called Wolf Riders instead of Wrags). So under what circumstance would they have a map of Middle Earth?

Well actually Tim made a map of Silmarillion aswell, and both that one and his LotR is huge fun.
And I must say he put a huge amount off work into them.
Prolly the only maps ever where I looked in map ed. and just relished all the small details he put in. Names etc.
But gl making that map

I've played too many LOTR maps and I've hated all of them...
IMO making a LOTS map isn't such a good idea...

Just that... I am a LotR fan myself and I am a real LotR mapmaker. Really you will not need to copy the terrain of MiddleEarth exactly. Laurelindorenan can be a lot larger and instead of using different heroes for different characters it might be better to use events.
