DHD animated console look (placed on rock, symbols are 32x32 and quick mouse selected for entering the right code--7 symbols for each planet to visit)





Edit: Blah, the first console looked nice but was completely lost time, as the dialog boxes are too big and hide 10 pixels from it. Had to redo the whole thing from scratch. Now it is working, but smaller.

It's interesting. This tower on right looks good (reminds me Conflux mege guild) but why these buildings are on water? Buildings on platforms connected with town will be better. Now it looks like town functions screen with town in background.

PS. Atlantis replaces Castle, Inferno or Tower?

Mostly because the city does not exist, it is only a computer model, without textures, lights, buildings. This model is what I could find best on the net. Buildings connected directly with this poorly flat model will look worse I think. I was aiming more for having separate buildings on water surrounding the city. I may play more with gradients to create effects like raising from water. There are no more buildings, only 4 it is all I need.

PS: the buildings emplacement is hardcoded, either I move my city towards them (which will show it closer and ugly) or I let them on water.

i think he probably meant that these projects can help you to provide suiteable graphics, since they already made what you are looking for. i'm sure they are willing to help if you show them the work you already did on your (rather awesome) SG mod. give it a try to mail these guys!

I think this one is much better. The problem is that for having good connections between buildings and city I had to use creatures generators. And I have no idea how to get rid of their pics, even if I changed their growth to 0 and made them Castle faction.

There was no answer because I was still searching and testing which town layout will allow me the best connection between generators and background (the position of buildings is pixel hardcoded but different from town to town). The first city layout replaced castle and was not good. I think I will stick to rampart from now, and use the numbers to other purposes, after changing the 3 creatures defs. Like ZPM energy level, ammo quantity, marines to recruit (got an interesting idea from Jim Vogan).

I may add a building or two but hard to find models fitting in that. There will not be creatures to recruit in town (marines additional forces will come through the city Stargate when ZPM level will be %100)
The existing buildings will be some research laboratory for optimizing weapons, aptitudes, heal, energy used. Still turning around and testing several ideas.
