Need some help technically and misc H4

Heroes IV is strange to me from the day I bought it. I bought the H3&4 complete Ubisoft exclusive pack.

How can I address some of these problems?

1) I want to start the game with a specific hero (like in H3), but it's always random.
2) If I install the 2 additional expansions - I lose the original game (it's changed up - towns and etc.), how can I swap easily from one sort of game to expansion back to original and etc.? I know I'm supposed to play the hell out of one and go on to the next, but is there a way to just enjoy the game fully like Heroes 3 complete (it's all there, one install is all of it)?

So there. I'd be glad to get the first one answered at least. I want my Sandro!!! =P

About the first question, the answer sadly is you can't choose a specific hero who you want, actually they may think no need, cause the difference between the same class heroes is just the portrait.
And the second one, I really have no idea...

Well... maybe that was the genuine reason. Y'see I just like the overall background story of Sandro, so he's always my fav and rarely do I like picking other guys from the Necropolis. Him, Galthran and Nagash (if you'd have to guess - yes I love the portraits of skellys). Ok, so my first question is answered somewhat - good thing I can actually buy the char I want in the tavern right from the start if I want.

As for the second part then... If you played H4 you should know. o_O
I mean how to change from expansion modificated towns to H4 original towns? I used to keep the exe for the original game handy for that - I think it only mattered. Hmmm...
Or is it that in H4 when all expansions are installed you can pick all the towns and etc like in H3?
Does anyone understand what I'm trying to ask?

Not quite. It's true that when you install the expansions you can't return to the vanilla game. But you don't lose anything from the original, aside from the altered game balance. H2 and H3 work the same way.

Lol the lack of hero selection has been pointed out a few times. They should've made all the portraits equally sexy.
