It must have taken some endurance to be a spectator watching the match over three days. A little boring?

Spectators could come and go as they please. Now judges on the others hand, they really got screwed.

Wimbledon really needs to change that rule. Most other tournaments go to a 5th set tie-break after 6-6. Why does Wimbledon insist on this? It's not really fair to the players. Even if you manage to win a marathon 5th set, how can you possibly be expected to compete in future rounds?

I don't think the "long" fifth set is normally that much of a problem, but 70:68 was absurd. I didn't even see the match, but I guess it wasn't pretty in the end. And not surprisingly, Isnar was out in three sets 6:0, 6:2, 6:3 today.

Well, a "normal" 5 set match is tough on your chances in the next round. Why have a rule that draws it out even more? I don't understand the logic in having a tiebreaker for all sets except the last one.

it makes endurance world record possible.
and actually, they didn't play 11h non-stop, it lasted 3 days. so in average it means about 4h per day, no?

No. The second day was the longest going on for slightly more than 7 hours. However, I do admit my mistake in the opening post, I did not know back then that the game started the day before.
Also, it's amusing how even the electronic board "gave up" before the players did on day two.
