My 'Table' was destroyed in the pasting. I had lots of values next to the creature names, as well as full names. Oh well, just did for fun anyway. Alot in the list took the appraoch of giving choices as to might , speed and magic as you upgrade. A couple quite differnt though. For example the 'Vixen's Siren upgrade makes the creature all magic spells or as in the Magic Troll is magic proof.

Some other things now missing;
The Naga upgrades would have the usual Queen/fighter but also a many bowed shooter.
Imp upgrades would involve 'touch' either fire damage or poison.
Foot Knight is Att&Def upped while Paladin is Att and speed.
Priest heals while Bishop casts...both still shoot.
Most of the lower levels upgrade to either a better fighter or shooter/slinger options.
The demon could either gate or leap and it would not matter who the hero was. That of course if you can stomach having the inferno and Dungeon combined for Underground faction
Any creature not listed from the world of HoMM would be in the random creature class and available in Refug-camps etc. Some could be aligned to a faction and that could be learned over time by a player.

As I said...for fun. The chart is far from complete. Please discuss
likes and dislikes. Markkur

Edit=The Table shifted a second time. Dang! Anyone know how to paste-here, a spreadsheet exactly as made ?

I'd take a screeny of the spreadsheet then upload the screeny and link it.

I agree.  It looks like there are some good & interesting ideas in there, but it is very difficult to read the formatting.  As SenorDragon said, a screenshot of the spreadsheet would be much easier

Well either it's a typo, or he doesn't like the new 3-3-1 style of tiers.

Quote:
I'd take a screeny of the spreadsheet then upload the screeny and link it.
Why do all that when he can just rearrange it as such:
Faction 1
Tier 1: Base > Upgr 1 / Upgr 2
Tier 2: Base > Upgr 1 / Upgr 2
...
Tier 7: Base > Upgr 1 / Upgr 2

Faction 2
Tier 1: Base > Upgr 1 / Upgr 2
...

Sure, it'll take up more space, but it'll make it a heck of a lot easier to read. Or if that's too much work, just standardise the spaces between each creature to say 3-4, so that it's impossible to mix them up.

Thanks. I'll have to figure that out. Edit=I just redid it in the box.

For all concerned. It should have read H6 or the Future.

Would a Moderator change the thread-name to 'H6 or the Future?' I can't except inside my post.

Neat lineups Markkur.

I like the idea of a Changling creature, though I'm not sure a T7 would be ideal for it.. but maybe!

Well that is the whole reason for this post. Well, that and funOne of my favorite efforts is 'Brainstorming' mine however I tag "mindsprinkles". Anyway it's the boxcarring of ideas that I enjoy so much. And I figured doing this would maybe give 'fodder' for someone else. Maybe a Dev. looking on, someone making a creature for a map etc. Inspiration I guess.

I will not disagree with you about the Changeling not being a sound choice for a LV7. In the process of creating this rapid-fire-list, I was unable to even see your point, let alone put the idea in its best place. Ahhhh...the proverbial..."What if"

Sometimes it's the names that I'm drawn to. I know the list is sort-of mine but I'd love to see a 'Rainbow Dragon' or 'Midgard Serpent' on a map by anyone.

Thanks for your response. Make a great map and create a Changeling at Lv4. Stun the HoMM world

Comments by faction
Haven: Oh gods, not Peasants again, really, there are better ideas for Haven tier 1s out there.
Mountain: The Cougar is way too high, it's only as big as a man, so shouldn't get above tier 2.
Underground: The Infernopolis in H4 wasn't popular, so I can't imagine the Inferngeon is going to do much better.
Plains: Not many complaints, although IMO the Bear-Rider was a flawed concept from the beginning.
Swamp: IMO Gnolls don't fit in swamps, and you have the Cockatrice way too high, because when all's said and done they're still smaller thasn turkeys.
Forest: Oh geez, can't we just let go of the dragons?
Wizard: Urgh, please no, splitting the elementals into levels is just a cheap, junky idea, should nevere have been doe.
Sorceror: Too many archers and casters, way too many.
Misfits: IMO a terrible idea right off the bat, although this is probably as much my own personal bias a a bad lineup (although the lineup itself isn't exactly what you'd call great, more like a dogs breakfast).

Alo, your names are terribly in a lot of cases, you really need to improve on a lot of them.

What else could be grunt fodder?

I agree. Good point. On this one and others maybe. The list is placement oriented and with little thought of level.

Thanks, Did not know that. My Son steered me away from 4.

I just put the Gnolls were they once were. I agree with your Cockatrice level. It is the same legend as basilick. Had a brainfart I guess, Thought it was a mythical Hydra of sorts.

What no dragons anywhere? Unthinkable! For me anyway.

Again, used because it already existed. You must really dislike the super-turbo elementals I have run into in some mods.

This was a random event w/o much thought. But upon hindsight, I would like to see a neutral faction that never allies and always hinders the real war as as an option in map-design.

I made the list in about 15 minutes and in some areas, it reads like it. Thanks for your comments.

Well Most of thye medieval armies were made up of pikemen, so there's a start.

Even in HoF?
Yes, but a bear is not an ideal animal for riding, since it has even less endurance than say a lion.
Quote:

Gnolls are anthropomorphic hyenas, and hyenas do not live in swamps, they live out on the savannah.
Quote:

You get dragons in Dungeon, and bone dragons in Necropolis.
Quote:

It didn't work in H3 (the Earth Elemental was dissed for being a tier 5 zombie, ie, tough enough, but too bloody slow to be of any use), and it isn't going to work here, not if you want to maintain the same 'elemental' parity as in all of the previous games (except H3).

Yeah well you have a lot to pick from, Stronghold (I can't imagine Orcs following anyone), Fortress ('green' xenophobes who will kill anyone who trespasses on their forest), etc.

You're right. I was really surprised when thinking on all the creatures that I did not even use or remember, when doing that first draft. I only used 1 fortress(h5) creature and as you know there were lots of others to pick from too. Do I remember correctly, that we will have only 5 factions to start with in H6?. If that is true that's a drag.

Make it great
