1280x1024, native for my monitor. Never thought of getting anything bigger either. I don't like these really wide screens that some people have, feels weird as hell.

Benq has some fine HD screens at good prices though... might be nice to get one of those someday.

Because it's the largest my laptop can use and it's ideal for it's screen.

I can't see myself ever actually using this technology but look at how the game extends to the side monitors:

So I ended up going with a 1680 x 1050 monitor. Heroes 3 plays fine with black bars on the side. Joonas was correct that the two windows side-by-side doesn't work well. Text size is fine, despite my fears going into the unknown. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lcd screen.
