They say doesn't work for radiant quests (random generated ones?). The only way is to resurrect the target.

Ok I am not used at all to new games, but I find this Steam intrusive thing scandalous. I buy a game, I play the game, that should be.
Instead, I have to type my nick/pass every time, get my way through thousand of pop ups, read email and paste some BS because they need to know I am human and the same who played 3 days ago, and so on.
Today I was told to get a mod from workshop Steam. Well, it took me 45 minutes to find, subscribe, past again questions and finally find out that once you subscribe to a mod, you have to click on "play" from Steam interface, not from NmN or Skse, and then you have to do this, and that.
Call me grumpy but I find all this worrisome. A company should not even have the right to ask your email, and here thousand of cookies are installing all over.

As much as Steam can be annoying at times, I have no idea how you manage to mess it up to such a degree.
I do two clicks to play a game on Steam. I start Steam, click the game.

Actually, steam starts automatically when you start the game. But just use a no-cd patch so you don't need to start steam and wrye bash all mods.

You click games at the top -> view games library, and you get a list of your downloaded games.
As for that email, that's a security system when a new IP accesses your Steam, it wants to protect you from having someone steal yo videogames.
Do you have one of those rare IP addresses that changes automatically now and then maybe?

Or it may just be a dynamic IP, so every time he turns off the net, it resets, I believe.
Though it's odd if Steam doesn't have an option to mark "don't track my IP", because I've seen very simple browser games, such as O-Game, which has this feature.

You buy a game but is not 100% yours, it is still their and you are forced to follow a strict policy. But in reality without you buying the game, they wouldn't even exist, so it should be the opposite.
We are just stupid ducks, that's how it looks.

Wasn't there a big deal about this some time ago? I think I read it here too.
I must admit it has always positively surprised me that it's possible to modify heroes 3, and other games and freely distribute the changes without the copyrights holders going bananas considering how the trend seems to be.

Well no, you can't distribute HoMM3 changes as stand alone. There was a russian user in wog thread who made a mod which did not require having H3 vanilla to run (was included in download link), and Corribus deleted it in no time.

I whole heartedly agree. Also, offline mode is buggy, and it still depend on Steam to authorize login. If you've been offline for a longer period of time then Steam will refuse to start even in offline mode, although, I heard that you can get around it by simply changing the time on your PC.
I myself play only free games on Steam like Dota 2 (I'd never buy a item for real money, mind you) I like to have control over the things I buy which Steam doesn't offer, unless you remove Steam itself from the equation in a copy made of one of your Steam games.
BTW: You're looking to turn off 'Steam Guard' if you do not want to bother with authorizing your account every time you log in with a different IP/PC.
Also, you can disable pop-ups in Steam. God I hate ads. Also, you can set Steam to start in your Library and thus not on in the Store which is filled with ads of games.

Again, use a no-steam patch. It will miraculously solve all your problems.
You are able to launch the game directly from the shortcut on your desktop so you don't have to navigate the steam snow too.
Steam should give you an option to use mobile phone number for the verification too.
And if you don't have internet, how the snow do you think they're going to lock you out. 
That said, I only have steam for XCom Enemy Within and nothing else.

Nifty. I adventured with Mjoll for a while with my first character; she's useful. I was disappointed you can't marry Ingun Black-Briar though. Might've been nice to have an extra 'in' with them.
