I do like the Regeneration idea. Would go well with the 'Death Ring' because though it will keep people from dying..it doesn't heal them. Ok...not sure how to enforce a time mechanic.
As for NPC's there will be a few that will not be controllable, but for the most part you can control NPC's. I will make sure if any are introduced that are not to be controlled to let people know it.

You pick a day when the UFO exploded. The RPG started what, 3 days afterwards?
When you pick a date, we, the players, just have to date our posts.(And also edit our previous one to make it more clear.) Perhaps even give a time of day as well.

Ok, for sake of argument. The Spaceship arrived on Jan 17, 2011, exploded, and for 3 days the debris rained down. I have a complete list of where the pods are, when they will be found (should players not find them), and by who (again if not players). What I need from everybody is where they are currently (in HCM please), and if they leave that area an update of where they are going.

That seems doable. However, given my, and I assume some others as well, ignorance of London's map. I would request that you provide a rough example we could refer to.

I'm in New Zealand, in some of the southern mountains. I started Jan 11 2011, but it is now Jan 14 where Jarod is currently having his last odd thing happen to him. Sorry for any confusion.

Well, to be honest you don't need to know the area around London that well. The pods did not just land in London..they are all over the world. Remember, they were powered..and didn't just 'fall'. Going to do a bit of an update, however, with a little bit of history

Ok, I'm just going to ask this here, because it sort of makes sense... though wog_edn and War-overlord might have to re-edit their posts. Who votes that we should have the current date 23 of January, 2011? It would make my life and the lives of most other people much easier.

We have a news report from the 21st, and it puts all of us on the same page.
How about the next posts being on the 22 instead? It would work just as well, now that I think about it.
Edit: Hmmm... Never mind. To much important plot stuff going on to set a firm date yet... But we should get one soon.

Hmm think I have the last Core Piece. The Key Ring. What it does will remain a mystery .. for now. I am about to introduce 'the villain' or at least one of them. He has one of the rings already (you will see how and why), but of course his main objective is the Core Ring.

If Stef goes too far, Jarod will start harassing him, and, if Stef pushes past what Jarod's moral codes dictate, Jarod will try ti kill Stef. This could also make an interesting story line.
