Maybe the Orc have elves as slave units much like the dark elves had minotaurs as slave units.

Elven make poor combat units, best to feed them to the Cyclops.
Or toss via catapult at the enemy

Yeah I'm sure both the goblins and the cyclops would appreciate that.
Elves looks more tasty than goblins and they probably works better as projectiles.
It's a win/win solution (well except for the elves ofc)

look how off-topic you guys are getting...
elves arent that bad though, they have many other practical uses in combat, heres a few:
1. Meatshields
2. Weapons(launched in catapults,used as projectiles)
3. Distractions
4. archery
Come to think of it...you guys are right, elves suck!
Now im getting off topic...

Well and who likes Elves then, nighty?  girls? Would not be surprising, since the elves have all a girl needs:
-Handsome (YUK!) "men" which are not 100% heterosexual (Heard that just makes a "man" more attactive for girls, especially in a certain age? )
-A white, kind, magical "Pony" with a horn
-Dresses (at the druids)
-Machos (Dwarves)
-Fairies!!!!
-and a peaceful, on the surface anti-violent attitude.
Not to mention that not many a man can be as vengefull as women 
Guys, this who-likes-who IS fun
EDIT: Hav eyou ever tried to connect fantasy races or HoMM factions to music (genres)? I did so some years ago, remembered it was fun.
