Mat tried to remember everything that had happened last night. After leaving the bar late while drinking with his buddies, he had begun driving home. Almost randomly, his car had begun spinning out, as if it had hit a patch of ice. Slamming on the brakes, Mat had slowly brought the car to a stop. He took a minute to get his surroundings, while a man slowly emerged from a small cluster of bushes. He was carrying a small and very worn pack, and was dressed in what seemed to be a tattered expedition uniform. He had walked up to Mat's car, almost cautiously, asking for a ride home.

Mat didn't know why, but he had said yes. They had said nothing the entire ride to the man's home except for when the man had told Mat the directions to his house. At the house, the man had told him, "I'm home now. You don't need to tell anyone I'm here or report anything, I'll be fine. In fact, I'd rather that you don't tell anyone that I'm here. Thank you again for the ride, if I had anything to pay you back, I would. But, unfortunately my wallet is soaked through. Thank you again, and good bye."

Mat had driven straight home after that. Now, the next morning, he wondered if he should tell someone about the stranger...

Nah. The man had said that he would be fine.

Jonas put a steak on each plate alongside rice and vegetables, then gave one of the plates to Jimmy. "You should eat more real food, kid. It's good for you."

"I don't have time to use an hour making food, there's so much to do in life! I prefer just putting something in the oven and then it's making itself while I create a new program or something!" Jimmy said, shaking his head. "Just look at yourself, had you been busy making food instead of being out you wouldn't have that ring of yours!"

"True." Jonas cocked his head as he cut a piece off the steak. "But if I hadn't eaten decent throughout my life I wouldn't be in shape to keep going after bruising my ribs back there."

"You hurt your ribs? Want me to take a look?" Jimmy leaned forward, looking concerned.

"Nothing dangerous. Eat your food now, kid." Jonas said, pointing at the boys plate with his fork.

They finished their food then decided to keep on exploring the ring, as Jonas wasn't satisfied yet with what he was able to with it. The bum had been able to create lots and lots more power than he was able to, and he thought that he would be able to eventually create even more as he was stronger allover than the guy from whom he stole the ring. He had his fist clenched, looking at the ring. "I will need to get myself one of those lighters that just pop open and the flame is on."

"You really do." Jimmy said, not really caring much about it. He lit the candle. "Now show me you can actually control the flames, instead of just making it explode this time."

Jonas shot the boy a dark look, but just got a bright smile in return. "Alright." he said. "Anger again, but this time trying to control it. Move back even more than you did last time, just to be sure I ain't putting you on fire."

"No, not this time. If you fail you will hurt me. Hopefully that possible outcome will help you."

"And if not you might be killed."

"Life can always end, if mine does trying to uncover something like this then I think that's a fair trade."

Jonas shook his head. "I don't like the idea anyway, move back."

"Make me." Jimmy snapped, which made Jonas slightly surprised. The candle stirred.

"Alright then." Jonas growled, forcing back the feeling he had when he was being thrown out of the army. Only this time he tried using his hands to control the movement of the flames, kindof as an aim for his concentration. And the flames moved, not only slightly, but then formely exploded out of the little flame originally on the candle. the flames moved in a ball, looking slightly like a mini-version of the sun. Jonas' eyes widened in surprise, and he moved it slightly upward so that it almost touched the ceiling. The boards turned slowly dark from the heat, and a vacuum started in the room. Paper and small objects started to move around, flying a bit around in the room. Jonas clasped his hands together and close his eyes, breathing out heavily, then hurried to open a window. "The flames drew all the oxygen from the room, we could have suffocated." Jonas said. "We better continue this another place."

Jimmy was about to answer, but a beeping sound from Jonas' cellphone interrupted whatever he was going to say. Jonas checked it and frowned. "It's what's-his-name, the guy that wanted to hire me. I don't have much time before he's expecting me. There's no way I am going back to him now. I am gonna keep searching for alien technology, and you stay here. Alright? It's safer that way."

"I wanna come with you." Jimmy said at once.

"No way, you'd slow me down. No offense meant, but it won't work."

"I helped you, man! If not for me you'd never have that ring at all!"

"I know, and I am grateful for that. But what you do best is computer-stuff, not physical stuff."

"I can't believe you're using that against me." Jimmy broke down, sobbing.

"I am really sorry. I am." Jonas said, and rose. "You are extremely talented at what you do, but this is what I do."

As he walked for the door Jimmy pulled out a gun from under the wheelchair and aimed it at Jonas. "Give me the ring." he said, his voice shaking almost as much as his hands.

Jonas stopped, looking at the boy. "Put the gun down." he said, his voice calm. "You wouldn't shoot me. What good is the ring for you anyway?"

"I could finally do something else but just sit on a compter!" Jimmy screamed.

"I cannot give you the ring." Jonas said. "And I won't repeat myself."

Just as he was about to turn away from Jimmy, the boy fired at him. The bullet dug into his left side, going straight through into the wall behind him. He staggered back into the wall, several emotions running through him. Shock, anger, sadness .. just to mention a few. The boy fired again but the bullet missed, hitting the wall just over his head. Jonas shot one hand forward, and the candle exploded again. The flames shot into Jimmy, engulfing him as a scream was heard for a half second before total silence. The apartment was on fire; floor, ceiling and walls alit in flames. Jonas staggered out the door and decided he had to get away from there before the firemen or government got there.

Shevi had not fared well when the pod crashed down.  She had been thrashed around, and had broken a couple of ribs.  Luckily the pod had settled, and the door was already open..she doubted that she could have opened it in her state.

A giant figure loomed in the door way, but gentle metal hands reached in and helped her out.  X917 had come to save her, again.  How many times did that make?  She had lost track.  She was lifted and put on the shoulders of the metal behemoth, and he carried her toward the city.  She would have to assume a shape that would not draw attention as soon as she knew what the natives looked like, but then again..she didn't know how they were not going to draw attention with X917 around.

"I am sorry it is uncomfortable Shevi, this body was designed for battle, not comfort." He treated her like his little sister, but if she said jump..he would say how high.  He would do anything for her, and she was very grateful for it.

"I will survive X." That was her name for him, much easier then X917..but only she could get away with calling him that.  "Thank you..again."

"We are very far behind him.  He is nearing another ring."

"I know.  Patience.  We will go toward the Null Ring first..then it will not matter how many rings he has."

"Agreed."

James was back from the retrieval mission and was talking with his ex wife.
- You know May, Mark is also my son, no matter what you and that moron of yours think!- James yelled at the phone.- Yeah? I'm glad that he did it. That snow deserved it. What? The hospital? Really?- He looked at his son.- Good job boy. Oh, so now it is my fault? You were the one who wanted to divorce. And you took Mark with you before the process was over. You completely ignored his right to see me. I don't care if that dickhead of yours has his face smashed. I would've done the same. No wait. I would had slit his throat. Mark stays with me and that is final. Good night May.- James hung up.
- So how it went?
- Your mother is enraged. It will be better if we declare that you want to live with me. You're no runt now, they have to listen to you. And I got some friends that will help us. - James opened two beers.- have one.
- Dad I don't...
- Don't give me that bull. Too cool to have a pint with your old man?- James smiled.- When I was your age I always had a few beers with your grandfather. So, did you like my latest project?
- Very. The engine's needed to be tweaked a bit. I managed to start it, but it's far from running smoothly.
- I see. I got a day off, and we can work on it and give that witch McBeth a migrene.- They laughed.

Stef got out of the tailorshop and tried to call Jonas. Gavin had texted him Jonas' number after they left the Blue Fox, he was stil tracing most of his background. Jonas however did not pick up his cellphone.
"Not answering your phone are marks on your reportcard, sonny." Stef mumbled to himself.
The fitting went well and if Isaak did not have to much trouble the new suit would be ready in a few days. Stef walked down the road to the park to think a bit before he went back to the office. A moment later his own cellphone rang. He picked it up.(Translated from Dutch. (;means the other is speaking there, makes it a little more understandable.))
"Stef here.; Vinnie!; Ok, I'll have someone else pick them up.; I think Gavin is busy, but I was planning on promoting Franky.; Well he shows to be loyal and he's too smart to remain a bagman. But what was it you wanted me to do?; What? You're joking?; <Sigh> You're the boss, sure I'll do it. But since when do you flying sh!t about art?; You sly dog, of course I remember her.; Sure, I'll do it.; Tonight? <sigh> You're the boss. Any preferences?; Right, Boyard Galleries.; Harry? Yeah, I put the tumbscrews on him a bit. Made back the money he lost us on the canceled deal.; Right, but I'm keeping a few of them to arm the organisation here over-seas. Speaking off...; Yeah, I'll tell Gavin. Right, I'll have him bring the art while he's coming anyway.; You know me, I'm not going to cock this up.; Another thing, I need someone over here ASAP.; I'm nearly drowning in the paper work and ways to keep that under wraps. I need a pencilneck to do that for me.; So I can personally keep tabs on business.; Anyone you can spare that can do the bookkeeping.; Ok, except him, you know we don't get along.; Well I can't help it that he has such a pretty sister.; Yeah he'll do. Thanks Vinnie. Yeah, when Gavin leaves for Amsterdam, he'll take the art with him.; That's kinda Gavin's problem, and him being the slick Rick that he is he'll get it through customs.; Yeah thanks for the pencilneck, Vinnie.; I know a thing or two about girls, I'll find some things she'll like.; What? No! I'm good Vinnie, but she's out of my league.; Bye."
That complicated matters.

Jan 22: 5:15 AM

Jarod crept silently out of his house. He knew he was being a coward, but he couldn't bear to leave if he had seen Alex again, it would have broken his weakened resolve. No, it was better this way. She would find the note when she woke up, and know that he was still alive. Jarod still hated himself for having to do this, for being too weak to tell her to her face, "I love you, Alex. But I can't stay here. It would be too dangerous for us, not to mention the baby. I'm sorry, but there is no other way."

He would have to leave Sasha here as well, unless the jungle cat could somehow sneak onto a passenger jet. Ha, that would be a sight to see. But he knew that it would never work. If he was to succeed, Jarod would have to distance himself from everyone and everything he cared about, nothing that could be traced back to him could occupy any space in his heart. Nothing could be used for leverage. Leaving this behind him would only work out best for everyone.

----------------------------------
18:15 AM

The only things he had grabbed from home had been a new backpack, clothing, his large black walking stick and his laptop. He walked into town, stopping at a Mc.Donalds to use their famed "Free Wifi" to create a throwaway bank account. Hacking onto his own bank account using a new IP address (Since his system runs Linux and you can do things like that ), he withdrew a hundred thousand dollars, worth about 70,000 euros and deposited it into his account. Immediately, he moved to the bank and used his access code to withdraw half of it in cash. Next, Jarod moved toward the airport, stopping at the Mc. Donalds for a bite to eat. The food, while horrible for his health, tasted delicious after eating nothing but granola bars for every meal of every day.

In the airport, Jarod bought a ticket to London, grabbing a newspaper to read up on current events. The headlines were:

Burning man's body found. Still no explanation for why he was on fire.
Well, that counts for one of the rings. But where did it go...?
Crater of pod in New Zealand found. The pod and a one Kilometer radius of the forest around it have vanished.
Farther down, a section caught Jarod's eye:
Alien life appears to be growing in the blast zone.
On the third page the article: Gun outbreak at all time high caught Jarod's attention for a brief second, but he was looking for more important things right now.
On page four, an article titled German borders still closed. No news yet If coup is real held his attention. That little son of a b!tch Aran hadn't been lying. D@mn, this made things complicated.

And then It was his turn at the carry on baggage check station. Hidden in the bag, Jarod had placed all of his weapons and in his staff he had hidden his rifle. The eyes of the gateman who checked his bag went wide with shock. Jarod flashed his ID badge for the secret service and the man started to act conspiratorially. "Is there... Anything I should know about, sir?"

"I'm going to go to Germany and investigate whether the rumors of a coup are real. I'm going overland from London, and I'm going prepared for anything. This is, of course, top secret. And you will never tell anyone, not even another agent, that I was here, right?" The ring on Jarod's left hand glowed dully as he spoke. Jarod knew that the man would be influenced just as easily as the truck driver had been. His ring would see to that. "Keep with the regular procedure in other words. And remember that I was never here."

"Right. Just a secret between us sir." The gateman winked conspiratorially. When the alarm went off as Jarod walked through it, the gateman wanded over Jarod with his metal detector. It beeped as it passed over Jarod's leg scar. The man looked up questioningly at Jarod.

"Bullet is just lodged in my leg. You know, an old battle scar?" Jarod explained. The man accepted this and allowed Jarod through, yelling out "All clear!" to the other airport security personnel. Jarod picked up his backpack and moved on, leaning slightly on his walking stick.

Before he got to his flight gate, Jarod stopped and bought five liter sized energy drinks. He began to work on one so that he would stay awake until his flight came. He hadn't had very much sleep in the past six days, between his nightmares and his pain. Hopefully the caffeine would keep him away a while longer.

Flippin through the paper he had grabbed again, Jarod found an article that stopped his wandering.

Hostel in Norway burns to the ground. The report gave the address of the Apartment complex. Instantly, Jarod whipped out his disposable cell phone as he flipped to the page where it gave the names of those who had died in the fire. He entered Jimmy's number pressing call to try and get to the man before he found what he expected, wanting to be wrong. He hung up the phone as he found that the fire had started in Jim's room.

The Hand was dead, and  so was Jarod's chance to locate the fire ring with ease.

Jarod boarded the plain, racking his brain to figure out how he would possibly track these people down now.

((This is for anybody wearing a ring already only))

A very bright blue light shoots up to the sky, but this one is slightly different from the others.  It's edges are fiery red, and for a moment it takes the shape of an Oriental Dragon.  A powerful voice echoes in those that currently wear a ring.

Since Ancient times my kind have guarded this world, hidden from sight.  Your world faces it's greatest threat it has ever faced.

Then there is a mighty roar, and suddenly the Dragon Ring's location is known. It is in the air, headed toward New York, from the Artic Circle.  It is not traveling that fast.

Emptying his second energy drink, Jarod takes his seat. How could so many rings be moving to the same place? Who was in possession of them?

How the h#ll was he going to get them away from their owners.

Stef stood in the alleyway with several of his associates. They were the best at his disposal for this job, a break-in. They were four in total, "Mook" the strongman who would carry the goods, Andy who would pick the locks and disable the alarms, Russel to keep a lookout and Stef himself. stef would have liked to bring Frankie along as well, but he was promoted to squadman and was making sure the gunshipment got to the office without troubles.
This was one of the most idiotic robberies Stef had ever comited. It was ordered directly, cause Vinnie wanted some art to decorate his house with. Which in turn would help him impress a girl Stef remembered vividly. He hadn't lied to Vinnie. Stef was good but that particular girl was out of his league. He shook his head, the whole plan was stupid. But he was the boss and if Stef did not want to sleep with the fishes, he just had to comply. The harder part of smugling them back to Amsterdam was fortunately Gavin's job. Who was just as pleased with it as Stef was.
"Will you get that door opened." Stef hissed at Andy. Russel gave the sign that all still was clear. All four of them wore balaclavas, gloves and black clothes.
"Nearly got it, boss. I just.."
<click> the door was opened. Andy's mouth curled into a smile and he was about to say something.
"Just disable the alarm." Stef bit him preemptive.
Andy glanced inside. "I got 30 sec to disable it, right?"
"Yeah, that should give us a few seconds to make ourselves scarce before it goes off, if you fail." Stef looked at his watch, then at Russel who again gave the all clear sign. Stef ordered Andy in.
The alarm began beeping softly. 28 seconds. Andy opened the panel and started pushing at the buttons. 20 seconds. The screen in the panel turned blue from it's original green. 16 seconds. Andy pushed more buttons. 12 seconds. Andy held a single button in for a while. Stef waited. And the beeping ended.
"Good work, 3 seconds left." Stef admitted. Andy grinned widely.
"Don't get cocky." "Mook" said. Andy's grin faded again.
""Mook"'s right, the job isn't done." Stef said and ordered Russel to the rest of them. They went inside.

<02:18>
Boyard Galleries was one of several artgalleries in London, but it was one of the most fashionable. Most works were modern, but several more classical works hung there as well. Stef would take the less abstract pieces he could fit in their bag. Art was useless if it was ugly or if you did not know what it was in the first place.
Russel was on the lookout again, Stef, Andy and "Mook" were looking around the gallery.
"So what we takin', boss?" "Mook" asked.
"Let's see.." Stef said as he was pacing around.
"You don't know yet?" Andy asked surprised.
"No, Vinnie called late in the afternoon. These lazy snows were already closed, so I couldn't take a look around first. Uh...That sculpture. Don't just grab that! Have Andy check it first, it might be wired...Right. Those two paintings. That, eh, vase I think. That nude there, that's tastefull for what it is. No, the one next to that! How are we doing on bagspace?"
"Not much more, Boss" "Mook" replied.
"Think, eh, that painting will fit in as well? Good. Ooh, and that gold ring I'll take for myself."
At that moment Russel came running in. Stef read his eyes.
"Rozzers?" Russel nodded. Stef grabbed the ring and stuffed it down his pocket. Andy and "Mook" were just done stuffing the painting inside the bag. Stef had chosen the smaller pieces in the gallery that he thought might be liked.
"Right, let's get out lads." They made a break for the backdoor.
Out the door they could hear the sirens of the policecars approaching. Luckily Stef knew there was a second way out of the alleyway.
"Right, Andy, Russel, lift that manhole cover, we're going down." Stef ordered. They looked at him with disgust.
"Don't argue with me, you want to be caught?"
Andy and Russel looked at eachother and lifted the cover.
"Right, Russel, Andy you go in and catch the bag as "Mook" drops it. I go in, "Mook" you close the cover behind us." The three others nodded.
They quickly got down into the sewers and the lights of the policecars could be seen as "Mook" closed the lid behind them.
"Russel, where is your flashlight?" Stef asked, looking at the three bundles of light.
"Uh, I was supposed to be the lookout." Russel replied.
""Mook"?" <smack> "Mook" hit Russel upside the head.
"Always bring a flashlight for nightjobs." Stef said coldly."Now stay close to eachother, if I recall correctly we should head due west and take the second pipe to the left."

<02:58>
After a slopping walk through the sewers they ended at the manhole Stef had in mind.
"How'd you know this, Boss?" "Mook" asked.
"This isn't the first time I did this." Stef replied. "Right, Russel goes up and checks the place. Then the same procedure as we got in."
"Why me?" Russel asked.
"You're the lookout. Now up you go." Stef said.
Russel climbed the ladder up to the surface, grumbling.
By the time Russel and Andy were out of the sewer, they ran into a problem.
"The bag won't fit through the hole, Boss." Andy called from the surface.
"Well figure it out." Stef replied annoyed. After a tense moment, Stef followed with: "Pass the pieces through one at a time, knuckleheads. And don't get them dirty!"
Stef sighed and noticed something gleam in his torchlight. While the other three were getting the stolen art out of the sewer, Stef inspected it. It was another golden ring, surely dropped down the sewer by accident. "Bingo." Stef whispered. He quickly stuffed that ring down his pocket as well.
"All done, Boss." It came from the manhole.
"Good, "Mook" you follow after me. Andy get someone to pick us up."

<03:45>
Stef unlocked the door to his appartment. The lights were still on, but Gavin was quite the nightowl so that was nothing unusual. Stef went inside and looked at the grime on his shoes and trousers.
"That's the second suit I got filthy today." Stef said to himself. He took his shoes off and went to the livingroom.
There he saw Alexandra sitting on the couch watching the TV with a bored look on her face.
"What are you doing here?" Stef said, momentarily forgetting that she spoke Dutch as well.

((Since this seems to have stalled...))

Jarod lands at his destination, and the oddest sight he has ever saw awaits him.  A Dragon, dwarfing even the 747's, resting at the airport.  The Military surrounds it, and there is evidence that they have tried to use tanks shells and other weapon fire on it, but now they are just standing around scratching their heads.  The Dragon doesn't even have a scratch on it, and seems unworried.  In fact it is preening it's wing.

In a clear voice, easily understandable to those around it.  "Are you quite done yet?" addressing the soldiers standing around it.  "If not, by all means, feel free to continue.  I could use a good laugh."

The person in charge (seemingly) takes out a bullhorn.  "What is it that you want?!"

"Want? Why my good.." peers closely at the person "man, I just want to talk to him." a claw motions toward Jarod.

<Januari 22, 3:47>
Alexandra turned around, her eyes were slightly out of focus. Likely due to the empty wineglass standing on the table in front of the couch. Stef felt the hair in his sideburns stand up, it was something that happened when he was dealing with atractive women.
(Once more, translating from dutch)
"You're not pleased to see me?" she asked dissapointed.
"Surprised a better word. Especially at this time of night. In my house." Stef replied. No matter what, women often managed what boatloads of criminals could not. Catch Stef off guard.
"I wanted to see you and Gavin let me in. He said you would not be back for sometime and I said I would wait for you."
Stef was at a loss for words.
Alexandra meanwhile got up and walked towards Stef, swaying her hips enticingly in the process. She put her arms around his considerable waist.
"Seeing you in Daddy's shop this afternoon made me realise how much I enjoyed last night."
"So you waited up for me all night?" Stef asked, not being able to think of something better.
"If I want something, I can be very persistant." Alexandra replied in a sultry voice.
<gulp> "So I've noticed." Stef could not get his guard back up, it would seem. Stef always had trouble refusing atractive girls, especialy when he did not controll the terms. And wether she realised it or not, Alexandra was exploiting this weakness.
"And guess what I want now." she said softly while nuzzling his neck.
"You wouldn't be happening to hold it, now would you?" Stef found some of his cool back, but most of it she had melted.
"Good guess, now shall we further this somewhere more comfortable? Like that big bed of yours?"
Stef swallowed again and followed her meekly to his own bedroom.

<7:56>
Stef was standing in the shower. He had managed to get out of bed without waking up Alexandra, slip into his bathrobe and get to the bathroom. He realy felt like taking a hot shower, even though the night had been plenty hot.
"It's not often I see a girl here twice." Gavin had come into the bathroom for some reason or another.
"Why'd you let her in?" Stef said from under the shower.
"Especially of her own initiative. I do believe miss Alexandra is the first to do that."
"Gavin, stop playing games!"
Gavin chuckled. "I didn't see any harm in it."
"If this is a way to get me back.."
"It's not that, I know it's Vinnie idea. No, I had a feeling miss Alexandra could help you unwind without you hitting the bottle to much."
"Concerned with my drinking are you?" Stef said semi-angry.
"You're not very productive or in a particular good mood when you have a hangover." Gavin answerd. "I figured this was a good alternative and you seemed to have left quite the impression on her."
"This isn't funny Gavin. Do you see me messing in your marriage? Gavin? Gavin!?" No answer.
Then the door opened. Stef heard some rustling.
(Translation)"Here you are." Alexandra said.
"I didn't want to wake you up." Stef said without thinking.
"I realy would not have minded." Alexandra said as she got into the shower with him without asking.

"And so you will. Officer, move aside. This is my jurisdiction, by order of your government." Jarod flashed the man his badge. "I'm taking over here. You take yourself any your men away from this place, get as far away as you can, and don't tell anyone what happened here today. Also, I'm going to want those tapes that the media has made of this, as well as any cell phones and recording devices that someone may have used to film this." The charisma ring glowed brightly as it worked on the minds of everyone around Jarod. "I don't care how many rights you have to crush, just make sure that the general public knows nothing of this."

As the others began to move away from the scene to carry out Jarod's orders, he moved to talk to the dragon. "Why did you bring me here? What could you possibly want from me?"

"From you personally?  Nothing." The dragon seems to .. shrink.  It becomes .. humanoid, but whatever it is .. is not human.  Nor Isla, Deep, or Vast.  Long flowing red hair, red(ish) skin, ruby eyes, and long pointed ears.  "From those who have the rings..maybe too much.  I am not like the others."

She stands maybe 5'0" tall.  Very .. small compared to what she had been.  "I need no host, nor does one make me any less or any more then what I am.  Even I can not stop what is coming though.  Should somebody retrieve the Core Ring, all will be lost one way or another.  It must stay exactly where it is..for all time."

You notice no ring on her fingers.  You get the feeling she IS the ring.  How exactly that works, maybe only something she can answer.

Jarod is rather uncomfortable, "Well, what could you want me, as a bearer of a ring or two want me to do? I know nothing of a "Core" ring, hell, all I know is that these rings are too powerful for humanity's good. What could I possibly do?"

"One, get a message to the governments.  The Vast are coming, and they mean to destroy you and your kind.  Two, retrieve the other rings.  Three, stop the Vast agent that has the time ring.  Last but certainly not least..gather the other ring bearers, for time is running out."

"But how do I do this? Will I have any help right now at all? If I am to find these people, I will need someone to go with me, a traveling companion."

Jarod looked into the ring's "eyes", "Will you help me?" He asked it.

"I will not be the only one, two more come that will join us.  However, we must make haste, even all four of us combined can not handle the time ring.  We are fortunate that the use of it hastens the users illness, and that they will use it only when absolutely necessary."

A few hours later, two more of the rings near.  Jarod sees two figures.  One a rather large mechanical man, and on its shoulders is a human female that looks like Sarah Michael Geller (spelling?).  Somebody may want to tell her that is NOT a way to not draw attention.
