Describe the area where you live
I live in a pretty boring region of Missouri. About the only claim to serious fame near where I live is the famous outlaw Jesse James. His family home, where he and his brother Frank grew up, is fairly close to the very small town where I live. Liberty is where the gang robbed a bank and its now a small museum. One other historical note about this area is that during WW1 there was at least one 2,000 acre mule ranch here and the British Army bought and used a lot of them to haul their artillery and ammunition.
If you drive the highways around me what you will see is rows upon rows of Corn and Soybean fields occasionally broken up with a cattle ranch. (The midwestern US, really does feed a lot of people) The occasional farmhouse pops up here and there. Usually now, they are newer homes but at times some grand old ones or broken down leaners come into view. Very few small family farms exist anymore. They are huge farms with gigantic combines that can run as much as a 1/2 million$
Most of the towns like mine are pretty much would-be ghost towns that still exist because people work in the larger cities but don't want to live there. The railroad put most towns in this area on the map around 1900 and when they left things went slowly downhill to be finally ended (business-wise)with Wal-Marts killing all the Mom and Pop stores. We do still have an old fashioned Barber but he is nearing retirement and stated that he doubts anyone is going to take his place.
What are your views like? What history is near you?

Imagine living in one of Europes most sparsely populated land. Now also imagine that country, but in a forest filled with moose, deers and wild boars. That's where I live, in a forest, in Sweden. The biggest city in Sweden is of course our capital Stockholm, 20 miles(~125 miles) from it the city of Linköping and 4 miles(~25 miles)that city is where I live, in a forest.
Then the real question is, what is this kind of forest that I live in? What kind of trees and plants are their? What animals are there and how do they survive? Well I will try to explain as best as I can, I'm no expert when it comes to these kind of things, but I will most certainly try.
The kind of wood that I live is the usual in this area of Sweden, which is to say there are a lot of pine trees. Normally there would be all kind of trees, a nice mix of pine and leaf trees, but this isn't the case since the forest-companies want pine to make lumber. There have been a deforestation and then they have planted pines. So despite me not living in a city I can still say that the industry has changed the area of which I live. However there are a lot of areas where I live that isn't been deforested in a while which has made into a real troll-forest. Something that really have made the ones imagination and sense of fantasy thrived
Since we live alone in the wood we have a pretty big yard/garden whatever you want to call it. In it however we have this huge pond, so each spring migratory birds such as Canadian Geese and Golden Eyes live there and produces their offsprings. In the pond itself we have Carps and Crayfishes. Out in the wild wood we have as already mentioned moose, wild boars and deers, but there are other animals as well of course like red ants, rabbits, Badgers and foxes.
I guess a short summery of the place I in is that it's both awesome and boring. It awesome in the way that I live in a goddamn forest! Noone to bother me, I can be alone whenever I want and pee wherever I want It's just so nice. Otherwise it sucks, it so far to everything, but that goes without saying I guess.
Anyways that's the place where I live
typical boring forest:

That sounds awesome to me and not boring. I owned nearly 30 acres with an old farmhouse on it so I do know the fun of taking a leak where you will and not even considering being seen except by (in my case) Bobcat, Deer, Quail and wild turkeys
About the Pines; believe it or not that is going on in northern Florida! I lived there a while and before moving there, I thought "Pine" were a northern mountain tree but as you said they are being planted and harvested in turn to make paper in two paper-plants along the Florida/Georgia border.

Thanks for taking the time to write that out. I would love being around all the animals you are and that is a great picture, I love all woods. I;m part Elf I think.
When I first started out going into the woods, I was always carrying either bow or rifle but in later years I started preferring bringing a camera. I used to get camo'ed-up and then take pictures of Great-Horned Owls that would land near me thinking I was part of the tree They would nearly fall of the branch when the camera "clicked" and I started breathing again.
