So, by now we have (to keep overview with all the Barbarian nations^^):
-The Realm of Chailhorn in the Southwest, ruled by Warlord Kolrigar
-The Free State of Eyre in the Northeast, ruled by the 21 Grand Senators of Eyre, which reached their position through a tournament
-The Protectorate of Ferreth in the Southeast, ruled by No one permanently, the cities of Ferreth are self-governed, only for relation with other nations and for war they choose a chiefthain, which is currently the formidable woman Janaive
- Oanborl in the Northwest
-The Tribe of Seudinnar in the Centre, ruled by a chiefthain
- Thule in the West
- Wyrmbern in the South.
Back to Chailhorn one time...how does the warlord get into that position?

Won a tournament-- though the fights breaking out sounds more viable for barbarians, it's far too uncivilized and inconsiderate.

Can I make a custom choice?
Oanborl used to be ruled by one person, but that person died recently, and under dubious circumstances.
There's a miniature civil war breaking out between the two families/clans/houses (maybe a house war rather than civil war then) closest to the person who ruled.
Thus, the kingdom does not only suffer from turmoil within, it's also in danger of being "absorbed" into one of the neighbouring kingdoms.
If not: 1 person.
