i'd say the most iconic champions throughout HoMM history are..
BLACK DRAGON / TITAN / PHOENIX
p.s. i voted for Titan, cuz i simply LoVe them (exept HoMM5 one)

Actually Phoenix was Tear 7/Champion in all games (Although it is a neutral in UBI games, it's still level 7).
