It's not supposed to be innovative, it's supposed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Might&Magic series. I think it's a nice touch. Seems like they've taken one track from each of the previous heroes games, that's enough for my taste.

And unless that music is 1 minute long and a bit modified Barbarian tune from H1 is there just for randomness (nobody even mentioned H1)

No, he said he played a H6 town theme followed by the H1 barbarian theme. Because he played it in that video doesn't mean it will be in H6, sadly

This game's musics will simply be stunning. I think it will be the best game musics ever for me. Even better than Diablo 2.

Well, not sure, whether the music can compete with D2's "Wilderness", but I am sure, that THIS is going to be epic (because it already is)

So I haven't played the beta.
Is it just going to be H2-3 remixes, with the occasional LotR knock off?
Because I remember hearing something vaguely resembling the Isengard theme in one of the early faction presentation vids.
Inferno, I think it was.

The Haven theme is ear-bleedingly bad. It isn't at all surprising that Paul & Rob didn't compose it.

It ain't that bad, but not very interesting either... And it doesn't suit Haven IMO. It's more like...sylvan-ish. Just like in my mind, the Tim Burton-esque Necro waltz would rather fit with a crazy Academy/Tower faction than with the undead.

Myeah, that's a battle theme. Which reminds me I'm not very fond of them. Combat music in H1-H4 was so awesome and raw

HOMM IV
The repetitive, tribal combat music had a very interesting effect on me, always putting me in a hyper-lucid battle-mode that will forever stick in my memory. H5 and H6 fails to do that. Though the music in itself is nice, I feel more like conducting the invisible orchestra than kicking arse
Anyway, all the beta music was posted on youtube by Nelgirith (linky)

The Haven theme is from Paul Romero, he even revealed parts of it. It's the trailer music that is not from Rob&Paul, it's from Tom Salta.
I find the Haven theme really cool, it just doesn't fit with the crappy picture of the city

Im pleasantly surprised by the music so far. A mix of themes from H2 and others with some new H6 ones. I do dare say the battle themes are much more powerful and "mature" now than those schreecing bad ones from H5.
Rob King and Paul Romero really got the fantasy atmosphere back into the Heroes franchise, congrats!

Oh, sure :-) thanks a lot. The first thing I have done, was a 5-player hotseat to explore each race... And than I was surprised, why can't I find the song I have been looking for so long...

Or these two link link - my most favourite tracks from homm series, along with homm3 combat themes of course.
I find the H6 combat music quite boring :/
EDIT: Anyway this one link has become my most favourite from H6 so far

The swamp theme reminds of something from the Commandos games.
In a good way of course, albeit perhaps a little unfitting, since Commandos II is a RTS/Stealth game.
