Golgar lifted the man holding his wrist from the ground. His victim was still pinned to the wall, but the beating he was given had made him pass out. He looked at the large, but still a good bit smaller than him, man that interupted him.
"Bidness of your own, you mind! If looking you not like, then look you not!"
Golgar shook his hand, so the man had to let go of his wrist. Turning his rage back to his victim, Golgar noticed he was unconcious. Golgar growled, he was not yet done punishing this insulter of his mother. He looked around a bit and started dragging his victim by the leg to the town square. There he swung his victim over his head several times, before tossing him into a nearby dungheap.
Golgar stalked back to the tavern, where he sqeezed himself through the much too small doorframe. The crowd parted for him, perhaps slightly fearfull of being on the recieving end of another beating.
The man that had interupted him had sat himself down. Golgar sat down next to him, the bench creaking audibly under his weight.
To the nearest barwench, Golgar bellowed that he wanted Grog.
"Why interupt me, did you?"

Ruddolph stood at the counter of the tavern. He had ordered himself a big bowl of stew, some wine and a room for the night.
"You're not from these parts, are you squire?" the inkeeper inquired.
"No, I am not." Ruddolph replied. "I hail from Bodenbourgh, in Roenell."
"Then what brings you here, squire?"
"What brings me is what drives every knight to set out on his own." Ruddolph answered with a slightly weary smile.
The inkeeper's wife returned with a big bowl of beefstew. "The wine will come shortly, squire."
Ruddolph nodded politely and found a place to sit down and eat.

The giant green-skinned one walked out of the tavern and Al'Quil went back to his table and sat down to enjoy his own beer.
After awhile the green-skinned one came back, now without the victim and he came over to sit down by Al'Quil's table. After ordering a drink the man asked a question:

"Why interupt me, did you?"

Al'Quil sighed quietly "Well, it was really not my business but I couldn't just let you kill the man could I? Not only had the man probably not done anything wrong other than insult you but the guards in this town would've been forced to arrest and execute you. And judging by how you look and the way you swinged your punches a lot of other guards would have been killed as well." Al'Quil took a mouth-full of his beer before continuing "In short. Had I not stopped you there was a big possibility that a lot of people, yourself included, would have ended up dead. And I don't like death unless I get paid for it." Al'Quil nodded half-way to himself.
"Anyhow, my name is Al'Quil, a pleasure to meet you." Al'Quil stretched out his hand for a hand-shake.

"Hmmm, sense that makes. But beating that man coming had!" Golgar said.
He then gripped the man's elbow with his hand and gave it a gentle sqeeze.
"Golgar Drunokk." he said as he noticed the strange look Al'Quil gave him. "Where I come from, this way people we greet."
Golgar recieved a small tankard of grog, which he downed in less than a single gulp. He immediately ordered more.

Rowyn and Arion both stood and just stared at the back of the two Tolerinds, having completely forgotten about the caravan approaching town.
-Well wasn't that something! Rowyn grinned. You know if that boy wasn't such a stuck-up noble, I might've liked him. But that girl could I do well without.
-Indeed. But I wonder what kind of magic he did use. i've never seen such a thing before. Arion frowned her brows pondering on what she had just seen. The outside world is mysterieous indeed.
-Arion! Rowyn! WHAT THE bLAZES ARE STANDING THERE FOR. COME ON, WE'VE GOT WORK TO DO! A large man carrying a quarterstaff and a dagger in his belt approached them with an angry look.
-Brand! Oh we're so sorry. Rowyn apologized. We were on our way but was..delayed by something.
-But we are both eager and ready, and we will do our part. Arion saind in an assuring tone.
-Well then, no point in wasting more time. Let's get to work! Brand turned and started walking with both Rowyn and Arion close behind.

Rimmer Dall took her hand and nodded as a warm smile crept across his handsome face. "Indeed Mylady." he answered. "It will be of great honor working with someone like you."

Garet Jax had ignored the hand and studied the girl casually, noting her features. Rimmer Dall looked emberrased. "You must excuse my friend, he thinks too much of himself."

"With good reason." Garet Jax smiled slightly. "The name is Garet Jax, you will find my skills quite useful if we are to work together."

Did you really think that Alex would just walk away after all of that? Really? The guy was entirely too twitchy, and the girl was rather pretty...

After they had gotten out of earshot, Alex said, "Well now, I personally want to see where those two are going. If you want to follow me, go ahead and do so. Otherwise, my partner is a girl called Elenore in the tavern just down the street." With that, he peaked around the corner to catch a glimpse of the vanishing pair and briskly followed them.

"Thank you Winter, thank you Summer. I'll be right back with you." Elenore nodded to both of them. Her face became more and more red with anger and embarrassment as Jax looked her over. "I must agree with you. A bit proud indeed. But if he can back up his words with actual ability... I guess that we could find room for him. But since you seem to be the leader of your small group, then I think we can work out a favorable agreement Mr...?"

On the Roads Outside of Town

The Approaching caravn consisted of 5 wagons each loaded with large boxes, huge barrels and big sacks, and drawn by 4 horses. On each wagon was 4 crossbowmen guarding the load, while 25 lancers and swordsmen walked along guarding the caravan's rear and sides. 5 cavaliers, with one carrying the Council's Banner, lead the caravan. It was one of the army's supply caravans, headed for on of their outposts. But right now they had decided to stop in town for the night.

The Woods On the Outskirts of Town

Deep inside the forest if one looked closely, one could see several figures makin their way to the forest edge near to roads. Dressed and Camouflaged like forestmen and armed with bows, swords and daggers, they stayed in hiding waiting for the exact right moment to strike.

On the Edge of Town

A couple of dozen people had gathered around watching both the road and the approaching army caravan. Peasants, villagers and timbermen most of them with one or two hunters here and there. And a lone fragile looking healer amongst these though and sturdy looking men and women. Arion there she stood beside Rowyn looked completely out of place, but quite comfortable as the ohers treated her kiindly and cracked a few jokes. She belonged there, she was one of them.
-All right, listen up! The man called brand said. The caravan will soon be here, so a final short briefing. We'll spread out across this square, the hunters on the roofs. On the appointed time and signal our comrades in the forest will start shooting voller after volley, thinning the enemy lines and creating chaos. The wagoons and cavaliers will the pick up speed and rush into town.
-That's where we come in. A woman spoke. As soon as their inside we'll ambush them and kindly relieve them of their wagons. She joked and got a huge laugh from everyone.
-Right! I don't need to tell you, but we really need those supplies. Brand continued. Just remember, no colleteral damage and no civillian casualties. Now spread out and get ready. Arion you are with Rowyn!

Alex had integrated himself into the crowd of general people. Hmm, a rebel army, eh? Playing a dangerous game here my friends... He looked around for the archer and his friend. While he was looking, a scout came up to the leader.

"Sir! The company has a group of fifty soldiers, Cordisu mercenaries by the looks of it, and a group of three oddly garbed men in the center of it..." The scout's voice dimmed as they walked away.

Cordisu summoners! Alex smiled dangerously. Time for a little payback.

After a few more minutes, he spotted the couple he was looking for. "Ah!" he moved to five meters away from them and waited to see if either one would notice him.

"I wish to gain further knowledge into the realm of magic, I do not feel that I am even close to my full potential yet." Rimmer Dall answered, then he looked over to his friend as to pass the question on.

Garet Jax met the gaze and nodded. "I am simply here to test my skills against any foe that might appear, I am a warrior and nothing more. I will do my best to prove myself and eventually you hopefully see that the way I carry myself is rooted in my ability to handle myself in most situations." He bowed slightly and a slight mocking smile crossed his lips before disappearing. "Mylady."

"How very interesting." Al'Quil nodded "I never knew there was a land across the seas although I guess it was to be suspected. Buldarins came from across the seas after all. You wouldn't happen to come from the same land as the Buldarins would you?" Al'Quil asked before a thought crossed his mind "This man looks like a competent fighter. And I can only guess how long we would have to chat before I would have learned all that is interesting to know about those lands to the West where Trolls roam? Maybe I should convince him to join those two up-coming mercenaries? Yes, sounds like an idea."
Al'Quil took a large gulp of the ale before asking his question "So, do you have any work now that you are here in Rovina?"

"Well now, I personally want to see where those two are going. If you want to follow me, go ahead and do so. Otherwise, my partner is a girl called Elenore in the tavern just down the street."

Michelle nodded and followed Alex into the group of rebels. "Rebels?" she thought "What incompetent people the leaders of Roenel must be to have made the people rebel." Michelle rolled her eyes. Then she heard about the summoners "Coridsu summoners? Now this is going to be an interesting show." Michelle couldn't help smile as she leaned over towards Alex to whisper "So, what are we doing here?" but before she got an answer Alex started moving further into the crowd, towards the two they had seen earlier. "Mannerless poachers, peasants AND now rebels. Great..." Michelle got increasingly annoyed with the couple, but she followed Alex nonetheless.
"I repeat. What are we doing here?" she whispered into the ear of Alex.

"Plus, we need a healer, and by the robes that she is wearing, the girl must be one... Also, if I don't show up soon, Elenore will get ever so slightly annoyed, and she's rather cute when she's annoyed..." He added with a mischievous grin. "It's just so fun to mess with these Caten nobles!"

"Buldarins never met I have. Not here, nor in my lands of home." Golgar said as he accepted a new and bigger tankard of grog.
"No work I have, but coin. Not many though my coin take. Know my coins not they do. As silver and bronze my coins as any other are. So find takers I often do. Even Rovina coins I get, sometimes for the stories I tell."
Golgar drank some grog.
"Rovina humans scared of me sometimes are. Hard things it makes."

Ruddolph eat the stew with gusto. In his court days he had better and richer food on his plate. But this fine stew was better than the hard rations he ate on the road.
The innkeeper's daughter brought him his wine. It was obvious that she was his daughter, as she was the near-exact younger and less portly version of her mother. Ruddolph drank some of it. He gave it back to the daughter.
"Could you put some more water in it? I need to keep a clear head." Ruddolph politely asked. It was realy not the alcohol that bothered him, but the wine tasted pretty bad. So having it watered down would improve it.
"I thought a handsome man like you could take his drink." the daughter replied in a sickeningly sweet tone. Ruddolph had little doubt she was coming on to him, which realy was not what he needed right now. Her boorish flirting did not make it any better.
"Just do as I ask and there may be a few extra duccats in it." Ruddolph replied grumpy.
"Sure thing." the daughter said with an overobvious wink.

Al'Quil nodded "I see. I see. Say, how would you like to be a mercenary, hmm? You see there are these two kids who saved my life earlier who are creating a mercenary band. They seem to already have found work, they only need fighters like you and me to come help them out. Or, at least I think you are fighter. Those punches you threw seemed to be a honed skill and if you can't use any weapons I could teach you how to use an axe or sword. Besides, I would love to here more about this land in the west that you come from and the creatures that live there. What do you say?" Al'Quil didn't talk to fast or to slow, he just kept an appropriate pace and spoke loud and clear so that the other man would hear and understand every word Al'Quil said. Now this was not an implication that Al'Quil thought that Golgar was stupid, but rather a precarsion Al'Quil took when offering deals, jobs or bets, so that whomever he offered the deal, job or bet to could not come later and say "You never told me that" or "That wasn't part of the deal and if it was I didn't understand it!" when it actually had been part of the deal.

"Indeed it is." Michelle smiled "Didn't know that there was a Caten noble amongst the crew. Guess I'll ask him about who else is in later."

Elenore raised an eyebrow at the inkeeper's daughter. The middle aged guy obviously didn't like her, and she was obviously very blind to that. Some people just can't take a hint. She saw that Al'Quil was talking to the green giant already, so she sat by the squire.

"They really are annoying sometimes, right?" She asked him without really expecting an answer.
