Garet Jax was by his table again, sipping from his water and not really paying much attention to anything. He gave a few of those Elenore had talked to and paid attention to glances now and then, trying to read them. After all, they were to be his travel companions in a short time. "Do you think it was a wise choice?" he asked his friend, studying Elenore. "She might use us and kill us off to keep the glory and gold for herself."
Rimmer Dall shook his head. "I have a feeling this will be a smart choice, she is honest and straight forward. Besides, if she was to doublecross us we would kill her at once."
Garet Jax nodded. "That we would."

-Don't look, but it seems we got some company. Rowyn whispered softly so that only Arion could hear him. The two of them were making their way to the post that had been given them on one of the roofs.
Behind to the left, about five meters. Down on the conrner.
-I see them, It's the Tolerinds we met earlier by the fountain. Arion whispered back as she spotteb the pair in the corner of her eye. Then she suddenly got a sly smile on her face. Hey listen, I got an idea. Why don't we..., got it?
-Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Rowyn smiled from ear to ear and Arion couldn't help but giggle as the two hurried to their post on the roof. The moment the got up Arion silently made her way across the roof, jumped over to the next and disappeared.
The two Tolerinds were still standing at the corner partly hidden out of sight, while focused on keeping watch over the square and the pair they met earlier.
-Well , well what have we here?! A melodious voice came from above. Looks like two curious cats out of a bag.

"Why, yes we are I guess." Alex called tentatively back. "Might I know who I'm talking to? Or shall I assume that you are just the wind?" He ended lightly.

Golgar lowered his brow as he thought about the offer.
"What pay I get would? No intention to pay off your debt, I have."
Ruddolph looked at the girl that went to sit beside him. He finished his mouthfull of stew before he spoke to her.
"I can hardly blame her for trying to find a rich husband. Though I would it weren't me."

-Don't worry, I'm nothing of the sort. The voice laughed. A small thump, like something hit the ground, and then light footsteps. Arion walked right pas the Tolerinds out into the square.
-Well, are you coming? She asked before walking back to the roof.

Winter looks at Summer. "Wonder if we were forgot about?"
Summer looks a bit aprehensive. "Not sure that would be a bad thing. I know times are tough, but I don't know how I like the thought of being killers for hire."
Winter laughs a thundering laugh. "What did you think you could do with lightning sis? Not exactly a useful spell outside of battle."
Summer cringes. "I know..but it just..called to me. I should have taken water. At least then I could make it rain, perhaps, for the farmers.."
"Summer, my dear sister..you were meant for greater things then being a weather mage. I may just be a brawler, but you..you will do great things."
"I wouldn't make it anywhere without you.." notes Summer.
"Maybe, but one day..I will be kneeling to your greater power sister. Just wait and see."

"What pay I get would? No intention to pay off your debt, I have."
"Of course not." Al'Quil nodded "I can pay off my own debt myself just fine. Hiring others to do it for me is just weak and it puts me in their debt. Anyway, your pay would depend on how much people would pay us for our jobs, however you can expect a fair share of money. I don't remember the exact numbers right now but Elenore is over there and she could probably answer that question." Al'Quil pointed towards Elenore "I don't know, I'm just hired in because I owe them." Al'Quil shrugged and laughed to himself in irony "Yeah, much good I came to be on explaining why its good to be a mercenary."

Elenore shook her head slowly, "Still, some people need to know when it's hopeless, when some people need to be left alone, and when some people obviously have no job or home." She checked her nails off-handedly, cleaning out the grime. "When's the last time you were paid?"
Alex turned to Mechelle and shrugged. "Let's go then," He followed the girl.

Ruddolph had to suppress a spit-take of stew and swallowed hard.
"I say, that's not a verry apropriate question to ask a man. Especially for a girl of your standing. And it's no use denying, I know such things. You're as much a country peasant as I am." Ruddolph said offended, not gravely but still.
At that moment Golgar sat down heavily on the other side, the bench creaking under his weight.
"Mercenary girl you are? Your debtor to you me send. Mercenary work you offer, he said. Golgar know what pay you offer want."

((Sorry for the delay... In a robotics competition right now))
"I say, that's not a verry apropriate question to ask a man. Especially for a girl of your standing. And it's no use denying, I know such things. You're as much a country peasant as I am."
Elenore could hear the annoyance in his voice. Tread carefully now... she told herself. "And you are right at that. I apologize for the insult, but an acquaintance and I are making a mercenary group, and you have the look of a military man about you. I was wondering-"
"Mercenary girl you are? Your debtor to you me send. Mercenary work you offer, he said. Golgar know what pay you offer want."
She was startled out of her careful state by the sudden appearance of this large, green man. "I don't know exactly, but I think that Alex said one thousand gold for everyone as a joiners payment, and more for each successfully completed mission." She shook her head, as if waking up. "I... Wait... Hello, what's your name?" She asked meekly, obviously thrown off by the absolute random timing of the half-troll's appearance.

-Seems like you've caught yourself two mice there Arion. Rowyn turned as Arion and the two Tolerinds climbed onto the roof. So Tolerind we meet again, and under most curious sircumstances. No doubt you followed us and eavesdroped on our little gathering. Very well, I shall satisfy your curiosity. Rowyn motioned the two Tolerinds to sit beside him. Whith both seated and their attention on him Rowyn began his explanation.
-As you've probably figured by now, we're part of the Roenel Rebellion and are waiting for a military caravan. Now there's a small outpost no far from here, seven days march traveling from sunrise to sunset. Not much, a wooden keep on a hill surrounded by a drench and a wooden palisade and a watch tower. Guarded by around a 100 or so soldiers or mercenaries. Rowyn paused and turned his eyes to the road and watched the approaching caravan guarded by the cordisu mercenaries.
-Every third month they rund out of food, water and medicine. Arion continued where Rowyn stopped. So every third month a supply caravan are sent out bringing the soldiers the necessary goods as well as the wages of the last three months. What we're about to do is intercept the caravan and seize the wagons with the supplies.
-That's right. We got 30 camouflaged hunters and archer waiting on the forest edge ready to ambush the caravan and divert the enemies attention. Rowyn spoke while keeping his gaze focused on the caravan. 24 more are spread across the entrance to the square ready to attack the caravan as soon as they enter towna dn take possession of the wagons. All this with minimum casualties and absolutely no colleteral damage or civillian casualties.

Alex critically glared at the "Archers". He grunted a little in disapproval at what he saw.
"Half of your 'archers' look like they haven't held a bow in their life." He told the rebel, "And the other half look sick with exhaustion, some kind of plague or fear. The only two archers I would trust in this ill-formed group to shoot anyone would be you and him." He pointed at Brand. "The rest of your group is going to get slaughtered. No collateral damage is commendable, but rather... Naive. The Cordisu are notorious for their acts of barbarism and use of civilians as hostages. If there is one rebel in a crowded tavern, they will burn down the tavern. I'm not trying to be insulting here, but I'm a pessimist at heart, and I'm generally a good judge of situations. You're going to need help."

-You might be right Tolerind. Even though most of us have been forced to poaching to survive, only a few of us has actually killed men or been in combat. Rowyn answered while taking a quick look around the square. But it can't be helped, we must get those supplies. Whithout it we won't be able to tend to the wounded or feed the men. There's simply too many of us to hunt for all. Rowyn's words was fillet with both bitterness and sadness.

-And I suppose You can give us that?! He grumbled angrily.

"Maybe." Alex said. "It depends on how many people we get to join our group. Right now, our group consists of me, M'lady here, Elenore and a few traveling monks and soldiers. As it stands, I would recommend not pushing this fight, just waiting for another day. But then again, if Elenore was able to recruit at least five more adventurers from this town..." He looked toward the tavern. For some reason, it had grown rather... Silent.
People were staring at Elenore.
"What? Is a thousand gold allot for a mercenary?"

"He's Golgar Drunokk." Al'Quil said and sat down on the other side of Elenore "From what I saw and felt earlier he is a strong man who also seems to be a capable fighter. Figured we could use him in the company." Al'Quil then turned to the man Elenore had been talking to "So sorry for the interruption. My name is Al'Quil Redmoon." Al'Quil, having already sat down made a quick nod instead of a bow and then looked down on the chair he was sitting on "Also, I hope you didn't mind..."
"What? Is a thousand gold allot for a mercenary?"
"No and yes." Al'Quil stated "For real professional mercenaries it is not a lot, but for peasants and the "mercenary" groups-" Al'Quil snorted at the word "-it is most definitely a lot. But those are hardly worth anyone's time."
"Hmpf. Rebellion. "Only happens to fools and tyrants." My dad used to tell me and my siblings "But if it first happened then let it happen. You're no good if you start slaughtering your own people. Civil war is the worst kind of war and must be avoided at all cost."" Michelle said and took a look over the battlefield.
"Coridsu. Arena fighters, circus masters, summoners and powerful magicians. Sounds though, I know, but a professional company or army should be able to deal with it as long as they don't fall to the Coridsu's biggest weapon: fear "They look like a terrifying bunch, but if you know what your doing then they are only barbarians using warbeasts" Master Balthal used to say, although I don't know how much he knows about war."

"Really? Alex is being cheap again then... He told me that a thousand gold each head would be more than enough for everyone." ((Sidenote: I've lowered the costs of swords and magic, so that the users of said weapons can actually have some...)

Golgar smiled, showing a mouth full of pointy teeth.
"Yes, enough it for Golgar is. Glad to have coin everyone takes I will be. Golgar's axe and arm at your side will be."
Golgar offered his large hand. As Elenore put her hand out, Golgar reached further across the table and gripped her by the elbow. Eleonore's winched and Golgar quickly released.
"Hurt you not I did?"
Ruddolph was snickering into his stew at the brash Half-troll. His voice was loud enough for the entire inn to hear his side from any conversation.

"Oh, consider it done. Where is Alex? He should have been here a few while ago..." The serving girl came back with some stew and ale. "Oh, my dear excuse me. We have to talk."
"But, I need to give the-" The young lady began to protest.
"It deals with your problem. Come with me." Elenore forcefully lead the girl through the kitchen door. "Now, about that knight in there..."
After five minutes, the girl and Elenore walked out of the kitchen. the serving maid's face burned red, and she promptly began to ignore and avoid Ruddolph. Elenore sat back down. "Welcome to the group. I'm going to give our glorious leader Alex to the count of ten to walk through that door with a mob of new recruits before I go scalp him. One... Two... three..."
Meanwhile, at the rebel's attack point, the battle wasn't going so well. (Yes, it started. Trust me, this will work better this way than if we fought it out in the open) The Summoners had brought forth three massive demons that butchered their way through the rebel forces and scattered the survivors into groups that were quickly being hunted down by the actual mercenaries. One one side of town, Brand stood over the dead bodies of multiple mercs. and one of the demons, killing edge at the ready as a second monster charged him.
Meanwhile, Alex had gathered a largish group of survivors and was pulling back... To the tavern.
Elenore said "Seven..." When Alex, Michelle, the cute young couple (Sir Dragon's people ) and the rebels that had followed them ran inside, flipping tables and making barriers, fortifying the tavern for the coming attack.
"Oh! Hi, Elenore." Alex panted, "I got us a job."
((Note, for those of us with characters outside of tavern, weapons are not damaged and charges are not used in any way. It was a story-line thing.))
