Please remove 1 year post editing limit!

...or do it at least in the modders workshop and maphaven guild!
Modding projects and large map projects run easily much longer than a single year. Constantly ordering around a moderator to do this and that is no solution. I need the ability to upload files, screenshots and create my own presentations. If H6 is released much more people will come and this issue will become increasingly more important!

Good Idea...

But my guess is, have you considered what happened before?

I have read some strange threads where posts had been fully removed, which can be done with edits.

I like the idea, but there are dangers to letting things be edited that long in the future. Perhaps speak to a mod about setting up an archive only mod, that only you can modify? One where you only add the full finished updates as you go, and not necessarily all the chatter that can accompany most threads?

Just my thoughts, not sure if it can be done...

Why is that a danger? HC is not a historical archive.

I don't see how this rule contributes to preventing irrelevant thread necromancy.

I tried once to convince Valeri but he refused. Untill this is done, or if it never be, you can try posting another master post on the last page...

The best it will be if a mod can unlock this 1 year block for a topic that is still active or if he was asked to do it by the poster. This way nothing bad can happen.

I do not see a big problem here. Why not open a new thread after a year with same title and new date in the headline? You can copy the whole first post of the first thread into the new one AND add a link to the old thread, so everyone could reread any kind of former conversation to that topic.

This way, you have again 12 months for editing

@Vokial, thanks for trying, for now I will post at the end and perhaps start a new thread if a more significant EE/RPE integration takes place.

I thought moderaters like to keep the forum clean as possible. But from a modders perspective: it takes time to crawl to the first page of google and that is important for your player base. Therefore viewthread.php3?TID=32305 has some value to me.

Or, Angelito, you could just have the ability to edit the threads and therefore no need to read another thread about the same thing, it's all in the same thread. Makes it easier if it's all in the same thread and there's not heaps of threads about the same thing.
