The siege screen looks good, excepting walls color. If you use photoshop I suggest first to make the frames in RBG colors and then index them,so the colors will not be altered.

If I'm using an image when I put it into photoshop, isn't it already in RBG mode? It always messes it up when I index, I tried to get around it but not too well

If you export images from defs,or that are in h3sprite or h3bitmap,they're always indexed,so they will reduce the colors if you add something new at the image,it's better to make them RBG colors first and after you finish index the colors to can put them in the .lod files. However,in RBG colors it may changes the cyan pixels around the building,it's undetectable for the eye at first sight, but it will result in an annoying cyan aura in game.

My problem is slightly more subtle. Because I am using screenshots, the pictures I am altering in PS have colors that are not good in wog, so it becomes troublesome. The cyan issue, however, is not as I also have a program that replaces colors close to cyan with cyan

I wish you good luck with your city. It looks very interesting and original, however I think that being too much original is not always good way to describe projects or even a human. Some creatures are just odd by being too large and the town screen is just strange. For me it does not fit Heroes of Might and Magic 3 game as other fanmade cities did, but as I said I wish you good luck. I would love to play Convenant!

Interesting units... and actually kinda nice for me. Not the best and of course they could be better, but they're not bad.

But the rest is rather... yygh. Buildings in town screen do not match with background (which is also kinda strange), castle on map screen doesn't match in H3 style (same problem as with Forge - see original castles) and siege screen... Sorry, but MY EYES!!!

There's a huge problem with colors. It's just too "futuristic".

But you're working and that's indeed a good stuff.

I wouldn't say that colors are "futuristic", it's a bad word. They are just too flashy. It does not look good and can cause eye pain after several hours of playing with Convenant.

I realize I've got some graphical problems. I'm in no way an artist, every creature and building is made from a screenshot I take playing Halo, so I don't even really have the ability to make things look better. The siege screen was what I had to "draw" most, which is why it doesn't look so hot. Hopefully the abilities and newness of the town are enough to merit a play.

Right now brutes can throw sticky grenades, which explodes all around, and brute chieftans can leap across the battlefield, hammer attack, and leap back. Hope these sound cool enough to make up for me sucking at graphix

However, the town is postponed right now, as I just bought Skyrim

You don't know that quotation marks can also point out irony, do you?

That does not explain anything. If graphics are painful for eyes, many people will not want to play with your town just because of that. Even if this would be somehow awesome in technical way.

And I say it not only because I'm a HoMM3 fan and a player. It's also because I'm in New Grove Team. And Grove, the first downloadable project that can be named an actual town, also had similar problems. Players don't want to play Grove just because they don't like graphics.

Oh yes I am certainly aware. But without someone who CAN do graphics, my options are release nothing and give up, or release my not so nice looking stuff and maybe inspire some artist out there the clean everything up. And as of now I have a Wog option that turns my town on and off, so there's no harm in adding it as it doesn't permanently change anything

Is it possible? I thought changing the graphics is permanent. At least for one *.exe file.

That's why my graphics do not overly concern me at the moment. Nothing is permanent, don't wanna see them just click it off. Works for saved games too, but because it's done through ERM, don't get to see the town when choosing before the game, only real limitation. If I had some free time I could do it for Grove as well, would not be too hard. Sadly right now my script is 82 as well though
