Demo help please
** Sorry if there is a better place to post that, if there is please move it, thank you**
I want some help! I downloaded the demo but first of all it tells me that I need some missing msvcr71.dll. Even with that error, the game starts abut I cannot play duels. Am i doing something wrong? I had access to previous betas but it didn't ask me for any keys or usernames etc. help please!
EDIT: there is a chance that due to the early hour I am still sleepy and I screw up and downloaded the demo version instead of just patching the old beta (as their website states). We will find out in a few minutes
EDIT 2: Same thing happens now, I patched the old beta and I get the same message and problems...
EDIT 3: problem with not being able to play duels is solved after patching. The game though still gives me the error about the .dll and I have to click on "ok" like 40-50 times before it starts the game... HELP!

Sounds like you should try to re-download to me. I'll leave this open for a bit to see if anybody has a solution, otherwise use FAQ and Questions topic to ask for help.

As I said, yes that is what i tried at first, but then i properly patched. Now i manually downloaded the missing .dll but i don't think that this is what it is supposed to happen

Can I also ask a question? Because my computer couldn't open the zip. - can it work on a Mac computer?

Try downloading & open it in WinRar or a similar program.

EDIT: But seriously, why does the demo keep bugging me about not having a physical disc? All I get is a black screen, a steel glove and a message that doesn't actually show until I Ctrl+Alt+Del the program

The game or the .zip-file? I had no problem opening the zip. I even managed to install the game on my mac (using wine). Too bad my video card is too weak to run the game.
If you have wine on your mac, could you try and see if the game works?
Currently both my windows and mac computers are too old to handle the game. If I get a new computer I'd prefer a mac but I'd also like to be able to play heroes6 on it...
Anyway if the zip won't open try to redownload it.

Installing Microsoft Visual Studio C++ Redistributables should probably help you. You can google it, or try to search your demo instalation files for folder "Support" containing "vcredist_x86.exe" or such and run it. (Not sure it will be there)

You could try launching the game with a random disk in your dvd drive, I've heard it fixed this error for some.
