It looks really amazing, the town has the very same atmosphere as its H3 counterpart. I can hardly believe that this is "just" a fan mod. The only thing, which bothers me, is that it replaces the Stronghold. I would rather got rid of either Fortress, or Inferno

I paid to download the cytadela mod - and love it! It's made the 'Stronghold' town interesting to play for me.

I'm learning to mod the text, correcting typos and stuff, and some personal prefs like changing 'efficiency' points to 'venom' points as befits the swamp town origins.

My big sticking point at the mo is that the unupgraded Coatl (replacement for the stronghold wyvern) has no head on the animation, but the upgrades do. Anyone else found this problem?

Hmm - I'm an obsessive problem solver by nature.

I found that the headless problem persisted when completely replacing the modded Preserve folder with the Preserve1 folder (which had the closest similarity) which suggest to me that the difference lies elsewhere. I'd appreciate any advice or tips on where to start analysing the creature declarations. So far I can see:
e.g. Game Mechanics/Creatures -> Game Mechanics/Creature Visuals ->
Characters/Creatures/Orcs -> Characters/Creatures/Preserve

Weird thing is, the link chains to Firebird files, but the Coatl model is made up of Firebird AND Green Dragon parts. Do you have any idea where the Green Dragon (head) part is coming into play?

look into animations files and follow links to effects and model instances files.

*dancing* Fixed it.  

Took ages, but after laborious error isolation I think it was due to incorrect file permission on:

cytadela0.1.zip\Characters\Creatures\Preserve\GreenDragon.xdb
and cytadela0.1.zip\Characters\Creatures\Preserve\GreenDragonUpgrade.xdb

EDIT: Actually, some of the other GreenDragonUpgrade... files also needed perms checking, so best just remove any read only perms from the lot of them...

After removing the read only permissions, our favourite Coatl seems hale and hearty +1 head and +1 tail.

I'm going to keep tinkering with text and graphics... a very promising module. What did you think about module balance?
