well how about the rumor about black hole games being dead ? - im not saying it's true - rumors tend to be ... well rumors - but i bet something we don't know (or will ever know) must have happened, and it could potentialy disrupt communication between developers and VIP community.

From what I can gather, on the forums, the campaign facebook and some conversations, the VIP's have been kept out of the look for quite a bit longer. Right around the start of the more or less open beta, the communication has been dying down. (VIP's please correct me if I am wrong here) Meaning that it started when development went into crunch time
I was aware of that rumour, but as you rightly say, rumours will be rumours. It's certainly possible, but without proof I am not going to blame that.

oh yeah some of the problems of H6 resulted from Ubihole's wrong response to minor complaints from previous games like too much randomness or too much micro-management because they removed stuff from the game or made skill tree all the same.

also implementing some unnecessary features someone must have asked for, but forgetting to implement important things like showing details of creature growth, or showing how many turns it takes for a hero to get somewhere

Which is precisely why we are there, to help prevent more of that stuff from happening. As much we can that is, we aren't the ones making the game though there is communication if anything. In the past we did not have as much influence as we would have liked though it seems that we have gotten a number of crucial points across.

And yes, we have been kept out of the loop for a while.. But much as I hated it there were other reasons for that.
@Elvin, I bolded the word "more" as I suspect you already knew I would say that "Shadowfax has already left for Minas Tirith" - that stuff should never have happened at all & pretty sure none of you would have ever guessed that those things would be omitted.

VIPs did not prevent that stuff happening, because there's only so much VIPs can do if the developer is making the game & doesn't even understand the basics.  They shouldn't need any VIP feedback for those basic things that should be automatically included...but then again they have lost sight of the core of the game which is a fairly complex TBS, with RPG elements, suitable for SP and MP with quite high replayability.

Anyway, best of luck trying to influence things in a positive direction and prevent "more" of "that stuff" from happening. we can only wait & see [just don't get too mad personally when Ubi uses VIPs ]

Let me guess no word on townscreens because they are still not up to a standard to even release any news about them.  The news is all about conflux/dynasty weapons/achievements/facebook/twitter.

I still say to everyone that more communication doesn't help when there is a fundamental disconnect at the overall conceptual level (eg. waste of time trying to change someone's mind that's already made up)...the best guide is still to take the timeline/happenings from H5.

There's hope yet - there's a hint that Xerox discovered, that they are probabley working on town screens and new faction as we speak. now maybe I'm wrong but so far it seems new expansion will soon be announced - im guessing Academy won't be DLC coz they got more things together to add - and it makes sense to pack them in one bundle that is xpac. Now my guess goes that they are probably working on these things:

- new race - the OP one will most likely be Academy
- town screens
- maybe new skills
- more maps
- RMG and/or simultanius turns
- hopefully better AI

Now remember what they said earlier ? ( partialy quoted from other post):

"First of all, we would like to ensure you that in the coming months there will be released several patches aiming to improve your Heroes VI game experience: bugs fixes, features fixes and tweaks, new features, balance improvements etc. We will also improve the map Editor along this patch process.
Just to give you a heads up, the planning of the coming patches is as follows:
Patch 1.3 will be released on second half of March
Patch 1.4, end of April
Patch 1.5, end of June
Patch 1.6, end of July
Patch 1.7, end of August."

Now in my mind there are 2 Options: 1. Like i said earlier (after these fixes expansion could be announced)
                                   2. Academy could be DLC, in which case town screens will come ... 1.6, 1.7 would be my guess.

Anyway my main point is NDA could be lifted soon and we might get more info (as 1.3 comes)

we will just have to wait a bit more and im sure in future a lot of you will be saying - H6 is awsome game

I understand NDA up to a certain point. But when you keep even VIP's out of the loop for extended periods of time, or show them only selective information.... I cannot but wonder what's the point really? And both Elvin or Cepheus ( the only ones I know off ) were not in the infamous but famous PR video that UBI pulled with VIP Fans.

To an outsider like me, it looks more or less like and elaborated PR scam with little consequences on the game itself.

No matter how good the design team at Ubisoft is, they cannot compete in ideas with a whole dedicated community. Some of the staff for sure are checking the forums for ideas and community temperature, but by not informing us about their plans for the game they are missing a great deal of immediate real time feedback.

I was running out of time the last time so my response was rather hurried. There's nothing I would have loved more than meeting up the developers and the other insiders, a number of which I consider friends and have talked/played with them for a while. I even had a dream about it after the event.. But sadly travels take time and money and even if ubi covered some of the costs it was not easy for me to be there. And knowing from them directly, there were discussions about the game and its future but.. the course of the game was pretty much set at the time, whether we knew it or not. Remember how relieved I was with all those delays? They simply weren't enough as is now plain to see so whatever expectations we might have had would have to wait in line.

I can say one thing though, we have been keeping them informed of the community feedback for longer than you'd think - I still find the time to read the forums, start new threads and give feedback even though I am in the army. You should hopefully see the fruits of that work in the near future even if step by step.

Primus is of course right.. Things some things should not have been considered much less happened but that's that. And believe me when I say that things will be better this time around.
