Patch help
Hello HC,
I have a little probleme, I got TOE from a friend a long time ago. He moved but is still had the game on my old but i recently changed but I transfered my files, i can play but when i tried to update it it wouldn't find the game can any one hepl pls?

So you didn't install on the new PC you transferred the files? Wouldn't that skip the registry process? Is it still 3.0? If it's 3.1, there's nothing to update anyway.

Yeah I transferred the files from my old PC but it doesn't appear as a program, like in the start menu. I am in 3.0 and want to upgrade to 3.1

Did you set up the folder to read exactly like this; Drive-letter/Heroes of Might and Magic V?
Edit= Have you tried running the "upgrade launcher" straight from the bin folder?

When i lauch the upgrader (both from bin and the downloaded one) they extract something then close launch again with me having no option whatsoever and then shhuts down with the error message saying" sry couldn't find Homm5 toe"

To me, now it sounds like a registry issue. Which of course gets set-up at normal-installation.
It's been too long but I seem to recall that TotE's folder path was different than the orignal path to pre-tote. But that's probably a dead-end too. Sorry I couldn't help.

In the bin folder there is a file called "UpgradeLauncher.ini" open it with notepad and see if it has this in it:
[RegistryKey]
data=Software\Ubisoft\Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East\European
If it doesn't have that in it then try copying and pasting that into it and saving, if it's the same for you then I don't know.
