How to play the campaign according to the correct order in heroes VI
I found the correct ( so that the story makes sense )order on this site of the campaign maps and I want to play it in that order - so I want to start stronghold 1 then sanctuary 1 then haven 1 etc...
However when I finish the 1st stronghold mission and I quit to the menu I see that I no longer have the option to start from mission 2 stronghold...
Is there any way to fix this problem?
I am playing online with the latest patch.

Did you create a custom hero? If so, when you re-start the game and go to the campaign it defaults to the normal hero. All you have to do then is click on your custom hero's profile which is located directly below the default hero. This should bring up your custom hero's progress.

Chronological order is not necessarily the correct order. The campaigns are setup so you see the events from the point of view of each of the griffin siblings. Although in each campaign you miss some of the overall plot by playing it through, the characters that you are playing miss these same pieces as they don't know what is happening to their siblings. There are a couple places that feel like major plot holes because they wanted to avoid spoilers of other campaigns, but these are minimal. From my experience I recommend playing them in the order they are set up (necropolis first). Part of the fun is unravelling the story from the disjointed pieces of each siblings perspective.

The story makes sense in any order. There is no correct order. It is a parallel time story with more than one protogonist whose stories clash. Trying to put them into a fixed order is a Hollywood cliché you have to get rid of. Just play whichever you want.

Stronghold -> Haven -> Inferno -> Necropolis -> Sanctuary.
