I know that, but if I got to choose between the two art directions, I'd pick this one in a heartbeat, boomeranguns be damned.
I just like it better, just like I like the original concept art of the faceless more than the one in the final product

There have been several hints in the development of Heroes VI of others factions (Academy), so I wouldn't discard this as a hint of Dungeon. Just don't forget that after the events of Heroes VI the war between Elves takes place, iirc.

I love them (with the exception of goblin, which is too similar to the original artwork) 
About the minotaur... I don't know if it's an hint. The quality of the image is very different from the others, so it could be an minotaur borrowed from another place.
Actually, the quality of the minotaur is much better if you reduce the size of the image in half. So we have the first creature of the expansion? I like it, specially for not having anything purple on it (or maybe those tattoos will are purple in the actual design).

Exept for his skintone which has a purple hue....
I personaly hope that it is a hint and also I Hope for the elven due in the first expansion

Yeah, in terms of artwork style, it could have been a H5 artwork they'd taken for all I can see. Ok, he doesn't have the muzzle, but apart from that ...

My guess is Academy first, and then Dungeon + Sylvan as a joint venture later. They have all but outright said that the Elven war will be a theme for a campaign (please note: They haven't said it, I don't want to start a forest fire, it's just indicated by reading between the lines). Of course Academy might come after, but given their pace with fixing bugs, I hope they only work on one faction atm. XD
