Question regarding Moderator Actions

I prefer to discuss the matter in private, but I got no response to my hcm to the mods. I'll still prefer a private conversation over HCM's.

This thread belongs here, because:
"If you wish to discuss something publicly with the moderators, use the Turban Tribunal forum."
If you care for my intentions: I hope to learn what I did wrong to avoid repeated offense.

Questions: Regarding the deletion of a complaint thread.
Why was the complaint about Angelito and Corribus deleted?

I found tidbits of information, reading the survey thread:
Elvin wrote:
"I can only admit that toasting forfy's thread without warning was rather drastic but let's face it, the thread had it coming."

Why did the thread had it comming? If it violated some rule, please inform me of the details.

Doomforge wrote:
"So why does forfy start a complain thread? Val's not there."
Starting a complaint is what I found the logical next step, when recieving a warning, despite not violating the rules.
I don't have any intentions of getting Val involved.
I hoped the mods would discuss the issue in the mod squad, and then present the conclusion they arrived at together.

Question: Regarding the 24-hour silencing.
The only public warnings to me I could find was:
"As it seems you do not like the easy way, I now give you a warning for "beating a dead horse"."

Which refers to the topic of Xerox' penalty.
After said warning I began a new topic, regarding moderator actions by Angelito, not about Xerox' penalty.

" One more post on the topic from you Ohforfsake will send you to muteland for a while."

I do not know what topic is refered to. I made Corribus aware of this, as it was part of the complaint about him. He indicated he read the complaint, as he said Ghost's reply made more sense than my complaint post.
Corribus did not decide to specify more clearly what he meant, nor did he take moderator actions against the complaint thread about him and Angelito. Therefore I don't think his warning was about complaining.

Please inform me of what rule I have violated, so I can avoid future incidents of said nature.

Thank you in advance for reading.
I wish you the best.
Kind Regards.

PS: Sorry to bring this up now, but from the Xerox case, it seems like you've to act within days or everything will be forgotten.

No, no, no! Read through it again and double check EVERYTHING. One tiny mistake could give a whole different meaning, it takes about 100 edits to get my thought perfectly across. And hell, even then things can be misinterpreted. Having everything 99% done on your end will minimize the chances of being misunderstood.

(though I'm prone to over complicating things, I have a bard's passive talent for exaggeration in RL ^^ )

Even though I never received the HCM in question, I have sent OFFS an HCM in response to his request for an explanation.  That should make any further discussion here unnecessary, right?

Let us see.

I don't try to stick up for anyone, I just like to question stuff and potential social injustice easily make me take part of discussions from the less used point of view to the degree I think I can support the given view. Kitten Angel, as far as I know, was the opposite case, a moderator who used moderation in questionable ways for own gain. Further more, I belive there are some personal stuff about her much worse than that about respect for loved ones and other peoples love, but I won't go into those details, because I've never heard her point of view and I don't think it's any of my business to take part of any of that stuff.

Just as a NB to JJ's post about tone:

I try really hard to be fair and imparial in my dealings with members.  I am not on a power trip or anything - I volunteer for this job and would step down easily if I no longer had the desire to do it, or if there was overwhelming opinion that I was not doing it well.  Therefore arrogance can't really be a manifestation of my style.  My powers are a way to make HC a better place, not to harm people or make me feel better about myself.

Sure, I lose my temper and get irritated from time to time, and my patience does have its limits - and I'm sure that occasionally shows in how I apply moderation decisions.  I am human, after all.  But on the whole I do try to be reasonable and polite to people who aren't maliciously trying to cause trouble.  I try to issue warnings when I can, and I silence before issuing -QPs.  I have tried my hardest to make the OSM a place where people can discuss whatever topics they wish without fear of reprisal, and I hope you'll excuse a bit of hubris when I say I think I've done a good job.  The only place I enforce any kind of strict posting guidelines is the feedback thread.  It's also the only place where I'm likely to delete things that aren't overtly spam.

This is not to say I don't make mistakes.  But I do disagree when I am told that my tone is a problem.

I assume it's alright to reply here.

I can mention one example of the tone, which struck me, but I don't think I'm really affected by that kind of stuff, so general examples would be hard to find.

In a recent post of yours, you made it appear as the relationship between a moderator and members are analogous to that of one between parents and children. At least as I understood it.
I think it's important to always look at everyone as your equal and, at least where I come from, there's not tradition for looking at your children as your equal. Heck some even look at their children as a kind of investment or possesion.

But I think you're right when you say you've done a good job. Actually you've done more than that, Heroescommunity has improved a lot since you became a moderator.

You can't know for sure who's what intentions. I know of at least one case you got it wrong. But even if you could, I think that's not the best way to do it. Eventhough someone might have malicious intentions, they still deserve to be dealt with in reasonable manner.

Edit:
PS: Thank you Tsar for finding said quote. I didn't even recognize it as my own to begin with. It's from the personal growth thread.

Sorry, that should have been in the other thread.  Such things happen when you're posting on the way to the airport.

If mods had a merge function, that would surely help.  I'll repost it over there for posterity's sake.

Thank you to Corribus, and the mod squad, for resolving the questions asked in this thread in private, to the degree I believe is the best they can do under the unfortunate circumstances.

I don't care what happens to this thread next, ignore, delete, lock, whatever. Thanks for reading.

Edit: Since the community took interest in the reason for the thread deletion, is it okay with the mod squad, if I share the reason, as I understood it, in this thread?
