UNBELIEVABLY ANNOYING BUG IN

Hi ^^,

there is a bug in the AB Campaign "Dragon's Blood".
Even though the Ghost Dragons are killed i cant access the quest guard.
I found this thread through google:
http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=28898

I dont want to restart the scenario, i spent several hours collecting exp and clearing the whole map because there wasnt a level cap.
I dont really want to restart for the slight chance of not having the bug this time.

I have Heroes 3 Complete btw.

Any ideas?
If i use a cheat to win this level, is there any disadvantage for the next scenario or campaign?
I dont want to play all 6 AB campaigns legitimately and have "CHEATER" labeled at every high score just because i had to bugfix a level.

Any help is appreciated. ^^
Maybe this bug is commonly known and there is already a solution. My idea would be to edit the level but im not sure how you can edit a built in campaign and if that applies to existing savegames.

Talking about savegames, i cant find them. The folder "Games" in my heroes 3 folder only contains an empty "savegames" text file.

It is a known bug in HoMM III Complete. There is no way of fix or avoid it if this already happened. Try using vanilla HoMM III: The Restoration of Erathia (patched to v1.1 only) with HoMM III: Armageddon's Blade expansion pack (patched to v2.1 or v2.2) instead of HoMM III: Complete. In any way you need to start this scenario again from a savegame at the end of previous scenario.

Stop using Windows Vista/7/8! The only proper operating system by Microsoft is Windows XP Professional. I highly recommend it.
In any way I don't know where Windows Vista+ store your savegames. If you start the game as administrator you don't see your savegames anymore.

@Bersaglio - using older versions of H3 is rather stupid. Also, Vista and 7 don't change the savegame directories if they are stored in the game directory instead of My Documents. And what you say about running the game as administrator connected with savegames is illogical and shows how little you know about the operating systems in question.

@mildly_annoyed - try running the game as administrator and using compatibility mode for Win98. It might help with resolving the savegame glitch. Also, try to find a way to show all hidden files when browsing Windows Explorer. Don't ask me why would they be hidden, but I'd like to narrow all things down.

What? Wait, how could I forget? Of course, using a non-working H3 version is a much smarter!

What? How am I was wrong thinking that plain user is unable to write in the folder stored in game directory so the game saves are appear somewhere in AppData!! Sorry!

Of course! Maybe if I know little then you know nothing?

Give me one good reason why Heroes 3 saved games would appear in AppData. When the game was under development, such a folder didn't exist, nor did NWC ever program the game to store saved games there.

I know more about Win7 than you, annoying little brat. If you aren't capable of posting something constructive instead of spamming incorrect information and mocking other users, I'd advise you to go where such "virtues" are valued.

Pretty ironic coming from someone who decided it was a good idea to be condescending towards Bersaglio with little provocation. The immaturity is strong in this one. Also, "annoying little brat"? Are you a comic book villain?

Unlike him, I at least tried to be helpful to mildly_annoyed.
