I'm suddenly feeling the urge to drop everything and go to France to translate texts and give English lessons.

The perhaps you should take a joruney to Balkans and try to survive there with 500 dollars only.
That's more than the average salary for my country, some people would consider themselves rich with so much money. Survival challenge? Try 150 dollars, that's roughly the minimum salary. Or 90 dollars, the minimum pension. A loaf of bread costs about 0.7 dollars and a mid-quality cheese is about 3-4 dollars a kilo so if you don't pay for water, electricity and the other regular stuff (i.e. live under some bridge for example), you actually have chances.

Only with your english level you would be very appreciated in countries as France, where nobody can speak or write correctly, neither french or english.

lol. and the worst is that it almost isn't an exageration. if you find a french person who can perfectly write in his native tongue, you assume it must be snowing einstein because it is so rare lol
I'm so amazed when I read messages of my family on facebook, no one is able to write a single sentence without mistakes, and let's just forget about foreign language...

Social freedom sure is a world problem, over half the map's red.

Didn't find where the U.S was ranked. A "little" surprised it was not in the top 10. Ours probably dropped a lot when they started frisking grannys in wheel-chairs (I've seen it first hand) at airports to avoid profiling.

Personally, I'm greatly drawn towards Canada.

It's a mixed kind of thing. For instance, I'd really like to leave Poorland, but at the same time I don't want to wash dishes in UK or something.

Here you can be anything you want, and can make a decent living from it, from coaching hobbies to walking dogs, and linguists are simply adored here, I daresay that I could make a decent living just translating hungarian. (in court, books, tutoring et cetera)

Hmm... Sweden is world second in entreprenurship? I really doubt that. The lack of an entreprenurship spirit among the Swedish people is something that politically concerns me. Pretty much all of Swedens big, internationel corporations and businesses were created in a time when there was far less regulation. After the Sociald emocrats, who ruled Sweden for yeeeeeeaaaaaars, implented lots of regulations and higher business taxeses, entrepreunrship in Sweden skyrocketed down. It is only in recent years that, with a new liberal government, that entreprenurship is being encouraged again.

Only 1 of Sweden's 50 biggest businesses was founded before 1970 when the public sector greatly expanded.

The nordic countries pwns as usual and show their superiority. This sure is not going to help against my nordic arrogance but some of those rank placements sure looks weird. How could every single nordic country be behind USA in health and education?!

The chart is ridiculous, like most such charts, don't pay it too much attention. And hell if I know how "personal freedom" is evaluated.

I don't get the part with social capital. How the frack does it make my country better if people donate more to charity, money which pretty much only fuels corrupted regimes, and get married?

It also seems that the whole thing is built around some kind of huge survey where they seem to have asked random people questions like "Do you trust the military?".

Social capital = How much money can a normal citizen actually earn?
If your country has high social capital, normal citizens can actually save enough money to start some minimal enterprise. Then again, I agree about the odd calculations.
