Short question on "random hero"

Hi

i can remember that the radmon hero (25% to appear in a fight) once gained lvl while game progressed, so he could get skills and att. which made it harder, and in my opinion funnier to fight, because you never knew what skills he had. Like mass slow or tactics.

In this version of ERA 2.4 (which is very good by the way !) he stays at lvl 1 the whole game. Anyone knows how this can be undone ? like give me an old script or tell me the version in which it occours ?!

thanks for help

I looked at the script used in Era 2.4 and I don't think any change has been made to the Hero selection. I think what happens is this:

The script tries to select a Hero that is not (currently) owned by any player and is not a current choice in any player's Tavern waiting to be hired and is not in a Prison.  At some point in a game there may be such a Hero available who was previously owned and developed by a player, but lost a battle and is now not owned and missed his chance (if any) to be re-hired from a Tavern and is not currently a Tavern choice. That Hero could be the one that is randomly selected. The bigger the map and the bigger the number of players, and the later in the game, the more likely this is to happen. Nothing prevents it from happening in the Era 2.4 script (that I can see). However, if there are a large number of Heroes who have not been used in the map, it is more likely one of them will be selected.

Thanks for your answer

I think you may be right. Also i experienced it differently because every fight was with an advanced hero (if i remember correctly).

You think there is an easy way to make it work like this ? So they gain lvl when the game progresses ?
I mean in a coustom map i could place all heroes in a corner and let them fight to death ,may the strongest survive so that i never encounter him
but this could become a little unblanced at the start, if i hit a lvl 20 Hero with my lvl 5 Haha

It would be relatively easy to script any specific set of time-based and/or attacking-Hero-level-based and/or random improvements to the defending Hero. That is, there are ERM commands to set the level, primary skills, secondary skills, artifacts, and spells of a Hero. The difficulty is in choosing a specific set of conditions to script (and getting others to accept them).
