Good question

<imo> I think we would be better served by an HoMM-Indie-group using Kickstarter, that see's the full HoMM-picture. "True fans" need to be on both ends of the next game and not the usual constraints of fixed-company-budgets.

I think it can only happen, when the initial-concept of a new version can rival JVC's original vision. If anyone ever gets there, then we will get a wonderful game that has all the features of the early versions; instead of the current reality of a "growing list of deletions". Since when did "less...become better"? Never!

Ofc, the big companies could do it too but I doubt I'll ever see that happen.

Actually, It's a good idea . Ubisoft bought, Might&Magic, and Spin-Offs for 1.3 million $ from NWC . ... And OUYA ( Video-Game Console ) got 9.000.000 $ on Kickstarter .. So, It can, be secsessfull easily ! We, can use, Unreal 3, or, Unity Engine .
We, are the big, part of the Heroes, main, base . ...  Who, could be, doing better this, then we ?

I'd pick either:
1) Stardock
-Reason: Look at GalCiv series + Fallen enchantress series. Especially now there's Kael there (well known as the maker of FFH mod of Civ 4 and the new FE Legendary Heroes).

2) Paradox / 1C
-Reason: They have multiple experience working and creating good TBS games (King's bounty remake series, Warlock Master of Arcane, Elven Legacy series)

Please no for Blizzard or EA. They have very small experience with TBS and 4x, especially blizzie. Even though they are RTS powerhouse.

And ofc no Ubisoft.

Plus this
Quote:
- not Ubisoft/EA/Blizzard
- not any Chinese/Russian/East European company ... because they've proved to miss their target far too often and to have rather chaotic coding (I remember the NFC Creature Frame nightmares with Nival's poor job).

100% agree with this.

I would like to see a Heroes game created by Jon Van Caneghem and Activision(Rome II:Total War) and Bethesda(The Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim) studios...

My choise will be Nival (they done little miracle with HOMM5, but it is impossible now because they concentrated on Allods online).
Also i think Neocore Games can make heroes well (Their King Artur 2 is one of my favorite games (perfect combination of RPG/TBS/RTS)).
Big studios make games worther. In a charge for money they use aufull online DRMS, split game on DLC's, fast developing make plot poorer and game easier and more boring.

Neocore Games + 1.000 people + a lot's of  money . Sadly Neocore is a very tiny developer, with a very tiny publisher, behind of Them ( Paradox Interactive ) But I agree, with You, It could be pretty, good . :-)

Actually, Paradox Interactive is famous for both strategic games(
Crusader Kings 2)
and Role-Playing games such as Mount&Bladeand War of the Roses.

I would be really curious to see how this company would treat Heroes of Might and Magic.
